王矜恤掃羅孫約拿單子米非波設、因昔與掃羅子約拿單指主發誓立盟、

王因为曾与扫罗的儿子约拿单指着耶和华起誓结盟，就爱惜扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设，不交出来，

王顾惜扫罗的孙子，约拿单的儿子米非波设，因为在大卫和扫罗的儿子约拿单之间，有指着耶和华的誓言。

大卫王因为与扫罗的儿子约拿单在耶和华面前起过誓，就没有把扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设交出来。

The king spared Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath before the Lord between David and Jonathan son of Saul.

The king spared Mephibosheth. He was the son of Jonathan and the grandson of Saul. David had made a promise in front of the Lord. He had promised to be kind to Jonathan and the family line of his father Saul.

至主以爾敵悉滅於地、亦勿與我家絕恩、至於永遠、或作不第我生存時爾當為主施恩於我即我死後主以爾敵俱滅於地亦勿與我家絕恩至於永遠

昔爾使僕指主與爾盟約、今求爾施恩於僕、若我有罪、爾可殺我、何為攜我至爾父前、

約拿單愛大衛如己命、即與之結盟、

掃羅子約拿單有一子跛足者、名米非波設、掃羅及約拿單陣亡之消息、自耶斯烈傳至時、彼方五歲、乳媼抱之而遁、因趨急、子墮地、因而跛足、○

約拿單謂大衛曰、今可安然而去、我儕二人曾奉主名結盟而誓曰、願主在爾我間、在爾我後裔間為證、至於永遠、此言當記憶莫忘、○或作我儕二人曾指主名而誓主將在爾我間爾我苗裔間為證至於永遠大衛遂起而往、約拿單入邑、

爾與爾眾子眾奴、當為其耕田、納田所產、使爾主人之子有糧可食、且爾主人之子米非波設恆食於我席、洗巴有子十五、奴二十、

約拿單愛大衛如愛己命、故使之復誓、

王謂洗巴曰、凡屬米非波設者、皆歸於爾、洗巴曰、在我主我王前蒙恩、惟當叩拜、

返至耶路撒冷迎王時、王問之曰、米非波設、何不與我偕往、

大衛曰、勿懼、我緣爾父約拿單故、施恩於爾、以爾祖掃羅一切田畝、復歸於爾、並使爾恆食於我席、
