大闢曰、爾侮以色列族上帝之軍旅、爾來迎我、執利劍、用干戈、我來迎爾、恃萬有之主耶和華。今日耶和華以爾付於我手、我將擊爾、斬爾首級、以爾眾之尸骸、給於飛鳥走獸、使天下億兆咸知、以色列族有上帝。亦使斯大會知耶和華救人、非藉劍戟、其使人獲勝者、乃任意以行、將付爾於我手。非利士人進、欲迎大闢、大闢疾趨、欲迎非利士人。探囊取石、以繩發之、擊非利士人、深入顙際、遂仆於地。如是大闢以繩發石、擊非利士人而殺之、手不持刃。向前而趨、踐非利士人之身、拔刃出鞘、斬其首級。非利士眾見英武者已死、則潰而奔。

其軀幹雄偉、如亞納人然、惟耶和華滅之、亞捫人據有其地。

我同儕使我喪膽、言斯土之民較我軀幹雄偉、城垣廣大、高可參天、在彼有亞納子、我何能往。
