在山谷那邊、在約但河那邊的以色列人見以色列的人馬都逃跑了，掃羅和他兒子都死了，他們也就棄城逃跑；非利士人便來、住在那些城裏。

最後的話，你們要在主裏、靠他力量的權能作剛強的人。

非利士人哪，你們要奮勇自強，做大丈夫，免得做希伯來人的奴隸，像他們做過你們的奴隸一樣；你們要做大丈夫、去爭戰。』

你只要剛強；我們都要為我們的人民和我們的上帝的城市而奮勇；願永恆主按他所看為好的而行。』
