When the king crossed over to Gilgal, Kimham crossed with him. All the troops of Judah and half the troops of Israel had taken the king over.

After the king had gone across the river, he went to Gilgal. Kimham had gone across with him. All the troops of Judah and half of the troops of Israel had taken the king across.

The king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him. All the people of Judah, and also half the people of Israel, brought the king on his way.

前行後隨的人群呼喊說：「和散那歸於大衛的後裔！奉主名而來的那一位——是蒙祝福的！在至高之處——和散那！」

大衛王派人去見祭司撒督和亞比亞特，說：「你們要問猶大的長老們，說：『你們怎麼能作最後請王回宮的人呢？以色列眾人的話已經傳到王和他的居所那裡。你們是我的兄弟、我的骨肉之親，怎麼能作最後請王回來的人呢？』也要對亞瑪撒說：『你不是我的骨肉之親嗎？我如果不立你在我面前作元帥，終身替代約押，就願神處置我，重重地處置我！』」這樣大衛贏得猶大所有人的心，如同一人的心。他們就派人來見王，說：「請你和你所有的臣僕都回來！」王就回來，到了約旦河；猶大人趕到吉甲去迎接王，請王渡約旦河。

權杖必不離開猶大，王杖必不離他兩腳之間，直到「細羅」來到，萬民都要歸順他。
