嗣後亞捫族之王薨、子哈嫩繼位。大闢曰、昔拿轄善待我、我必善待其子。乃遣臣僕、至哈嫩所、唁其喪父。大闢臣僕詣亞捫族之地。

王曰、今在何所。西巴曰、在羅底巴邑、亞米利子馬吉家。王遣使召之至。

昔我避爾兄押沙龍時、基列人巴西來眾子來迓、故當待之以恩、視若上賓。

祭司同宗、有哈巴雅、哥士、巴西來之族。巴西來娶基列人巴西來之女孫、因以巴西來之名名己。

亞捫王拿轄至基列之雅疋、建營攻之、雅疋人謂拿轄曰、與我結約、我服事爾。

約押攻亞捫族之喇巴、將取京都、

大闢集民往喇巴、攻城拔之。獲敵王之冕、重千五百兩、鑄以兼金、飾以寶石、人置於大闢首。邑中貨財、獲之甚多。

基烈人巴西來、自囉其林而至、偕王濟約但、以送王行。巴西來老邁、年已八十、其家巨富、王在馬哈念時、以所需供王。王謂巴西來曰、與我偕往、我在耶路撒冷、以養贍爾。巴西來曰、我之生存、要無幾年、我偕王往耶路撒冷、果何為乎。我今年八十、所食所飲、不知其味、不別美惡、謳歌之男女、不能分其聲、臣與王偕、適以阻王而已。第容臣濟約但、送王於咫尺之地、何必賞賚若是之厚乎。容臣旋歸、死於故邑、葬於父母墓側、爾之臣僕金罕、可與王偕、任意以行可也。王曰、金罕可與我偕、我必待之任爾所欲。爾尚有所求、我必相從。僕眾濟約但、王既濟河、與巴西來接吻、為之祝嘏、巴西來歸。
