大衛應時問赫人亞希米勒、和洗魯雅的兒子約押的兄弟亞比篩說：『誰跟我下營盤到掃羅那裏？』亞比篩說：『我同你下去。』於是大衛和亞比篩夜間到了眾兵那裏，見掃羅躺在輜重營裏睡着，他的矛在他頭旁、插在地上；押尼珥和眾兵都躺在他四圍。亞比篩對大衛說：『今天上帝將你的仇敵送交在你手裏；現在請容我拿矛將他刺透在地上：一刺就成，不用再刺。』大衛對亞比篩說：『不可殺害他；有誰伸手害永恆主所膏立的、而免受罰呢？』大衛又說：『我指着永活的永恆主來起誓：他或是被永恆主擊打，或是他日子已到，他自會死，或是他下戰場而被收拾，但我絕對不伸手去害永恆主所膏立的；現在你只要將他頭旁的矛和水罐拿來，我們就走。』

不，我並沒有容我口舌犯罪，而以咒罵求滅他的命啊）；若我帳棚的家人未嘗說：「誰不以我主人的肉食而飽足呢？」（

務要尊敬眾人；愛信主的弟兄姊妹；敬畏上帝；尊敬君王。
