And Absalom said to Hushai,[ Is] this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?

押沙龙问户筛说：“这是你恩待朋友吗？为什么不与你的朋友同去呢？”

押沙龙对户筛说：“你这样做是忠诚对待你的朋友吗？为什么不与你的朋友同去呢？”

押沙龙对户筛说：“你这样做是忠诚对待你的朋友吗？为什么不与你的朋友同去呢？”

押沙龙问户筛说：“这就是你对朋友的忠诚吗？你为什么不跟你的朋友去呢？”

押沙龙问户筛：“你就以这样的‘慈爱’待你的朋友吗？你为什么没有与你的朋友一同走呢？”

押沙龍問戶篩說：「這是你恩待朋友嗎？為甚麼不與你的朋友同去呢？」

押沙龍對戶篩說：「你這樣做是忠誠對待你的朋友嗎？為甚麼不與你的朋友同去呢？」

押沙龍對戶篩說：「你這樣做是忠誠對待你的朋友嗎？為甚麼不與你的朋友同去呢？」

押沙龍問戶篩說：「這就是你對朋友的忠誠嗎？你為什麼不跟你的朋友去呢？」

押沙龍問戶篩：“你就以這樣的‘慈愛’待你的朋友嗎？你為甚麼沒有與你的朋友一同走呢？”

押沙龍問戶篩說：『你對你朋友的忠愛就是這樣麼？你為甚麼不跟你朋友一同去呢？

押沙龍問戶篩：「這是你對朋友的忠誠嗎？你為什麼沒有與你的朋友一起離開呢？」

押沙龍曰、爾愛友之情如是乎、何不與友偕行乎、

押沙龍曰、奚不與友偕、爾何不敦友誼、

押沙龍謂戶篩曰、此爾待友之惠乎、何不與爾友偕行、

Absalom said to Hushai,“ So this is the love you show your friend? If he’s your friend, why didn’t you go with him?”

Absalom said to Hushai,“ So this is the way you show love to your friend? If he’s your friend, why didn’t you go with him?”

And Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”

“ Is this the way you treat your friend David?” Absalom asked him.“ Why aren’t you with him?”

“ Is this your loyalty to your friend?” Absalom asked Hushai.“ Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

But Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”

So Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”

And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?

“ Is this your loyalty to your friend?” Absalom asked Hushai.“ Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

Absalom said to Hushai,“ Do you call this loyalty to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth?

A man[ that hath] friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend[ that] sticketh closer than a brother.

And it came to pass, that[ when] David was come to the top[ of the mount], where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:Unto whom David said, If thou passest on with me, then thou shalt be a burden unto me:But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king;[ as] I[ have been] thy father’s servant hitherto, so[ will] I now also[ be] thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel.And[ hast thou] not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be,[ that] what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king’s house, thou shalt tell[ it] to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.Behold,[ they have] there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok’s[ son], and Jonathan Abiathar’s[ son]; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear.So Hushai David’s friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.

Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise?[ is] not he thy father[ that] hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
