When David had gone a short distance beyond the summit, there was Ziba, the steward of Mephibosheth, waiting to meet him. He had a string of donkeys saddled and loaded with two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred cakes of raisins, a hundred cakes of figs and a skin of wine.

David went just beyond the top of the Mount of Olives. Ziba was waiting there to meet him. He was Mephibosheth’s manager. He had several donkeys with saddles on them. They were carrying 200 loaves of bread and 100 raisin cakes. They were also carrying 100 fig cakes and a bottle of wine. The bottle was made out of animal skin.

When David had passed a little beyond the summit, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of donkeys saddled, bearing two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred bunches of raisins, a hundred of summer fruits, and a skin of wine.

When David had gone a little beyond the summit of the Mount of Olives, Ziba, the servant of Mephibosheth, was waiting there for him. He had two donkeys loaded with 200 loaves of bread, 100 clusters of raisins, 100 bunches of summer fruit, and a wineskin full of wine.

When David was a little past the top of the mountain, there was Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth, who met him with a couple of saddled donkeys, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, one hundred clusters of raisins, one hundred summer fruits, and a skin of wine.

And when David was a little past the top of the ascent, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred clusters of raisins, and a hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.

When David had gone a short way beyond the summit, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth was there to meet him. He had a couple of donkeys that were saddled, and on them were two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred raisin cakes, a hundred baskets of summer fruit, and a container of wine.

When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a container of wine.

亞比該急忙拿了兩百個餅、兩皮袋酒、五隻預備好了的羊、十七公斤烘好了的穗子、一百個葡萄餅、兩百個無花果餅，都馱在驢背上，

大衛到了山頂，就是人敬拜神的地方。看哪！有亞基人戶篩衣服撕裂，頭蒙灰塵，在那裡迎接他。

大衛走上橄欖山；他蒙著頭，赤著腳，一邊上，一邊哭，所有與他在一起的人民也都蒙著頭，一邊上，一邊哭。

掃羅家有一個僕人，名叫洗巴。有人叫他來見大衛；王問他：“你是洗巴嗎？”他回答：“僕人正是。”王又問：“掃羅家還有人沒有？我要以神的慈愛待他。”洗巴回答王說：“還有約拿單的一個兒子，他雙腳殘廢了。”王又問他說：“他在哪裡？”洗巴回答王說：“他在羅‧底巴亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡。”於是大衛王派人去把他從羅‧底巴亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡接來。掃羅的孫子，約拿單的兒子米非波設來到大衛面前，俯伏叩拜。大衛說：“米非波設！”他回答：“僕人在這裡。”大衛對他說：“你不要怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故，以慈愛待你，把你祖父掃羅所有的田地都歸還給你；你也可以常常與我同席吃飯。”米非波設再叩拜說：“僕人算甚麼？你竟然眷顧我這個像條死狗的人！”王把掃羅的僕人洗巴召來，對他說：“我已經把屬於掃羅，以及他全家所有的一切，給了你主人的孫子。你和你的兒子，以及你的僕人，都要替他耕種田地；你要把所收穫的拿來，供他食用。你主人的孫子米非波設要常常與我同席吃飯。”洗巴有十五個兒子，二十個僕人。洗巴對王說：“我主我王吩咐僕人的一切，僕人都必遵行。”於是米非波設與大衛（按照《馬索拉文本》，“大衛”作“我”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）同桌吃飯，像是王的一個兒子一樣。米非波設有一個小兒子，名叫米迦。住在洗巴家裡的人，都作了米非波設的僕人。這樣，米非波設住在耶路撒冷，常常與王同席吃飯。可是他的雙腿都是瘸的。

君王以公正使國堅立；收受賄賂的，使國覆亡。諂媚鄰舍的人，是在他的腳下張設網羅。

至於我，我要留在米斯巴，侍候那些來到我們這裡的迦勒底人。你們只管收存酒、夏天的果子和油，放在器皿裡，並且住在你們所佔有的城中。”

我有禍了！因為我好像夏天採摘的果子，又像摘剩的葡萄，沒有一掛可吃的，也沒有我心所想望早熟的無花果。

有一天，耶西對他的兒子大衛說：“你拿這十公斤烘了的穀子和這十個餅去給你的哥哥們；你要跑到營裡去給你的哥哥們，又拿這十塊乳酪去給他們的千夫長，看看你的哥哥們平安不平安，把他們的家書帶回來。”

大衛到了瑪哈念的時候，亞捫族的拉巴人拿轄的兒子朔比、羅‧底巴人亞米利的兒子瑪吉、基列的羅基琳人巴西萊，帶來寢具、碗盆、瓦器、小麥、大麥、麵粉、炒麥、豆子、紅豆、炒豆、蜂蜜、奶油、綿羊和乳酪送給大衛和跟隨他的人吃，因為他們說：“這些人在曠野一定又飢餓，又疲倦，又口渴了。”

耶西就牽來一頭驢子，馱上餅、一皮袋酒和一隻山羊羔，交給他的兒子大衛送給掃羅。

主耶和華向我顯示，我就看見一籃夏天的果子。

人的禮物能為他開路，引他到大人物面前。

所有的猶大人就從被趕逐到的各地方回來，到猶大地的米斯巴去見基大利，並且收存了許多的酒和夏天的果子。

你要從那裡再往前去，直到他泊的橡樹那裡，必遇見三個上伯特利去敬拜神的人，一個帶著三隻山羊羔，一個帶著三個餅，一個帶著一皮袋酒。

在他們附近的人，甚至以薩迦、西布倫和拿弗他利支派的人，都用驢、駱駝、騾子和牛，給他們帶來了很多食物：麵餅、無花果餅、葡萄餅乾、酒、油和許多牛羊，以色列全境就充滿歡樂。

巴西萊年紀非常老邁，已經八十歲。王住在瑪哈念的時候，是他供養王的，因為他是一個很富有的人。
