王對撒督說：『你將上帝的櫃抬回城去；我若在永恆主眼前蒙恩，他就會使我回來、再見那櫃和他的居所。

王對撒督說：「把神的約櫃抬回城去吧。如果我在耶和華眼前蒙恩，他必讓我回來，再看到約櫃和他的居所。

王謂撒督曰、舁上帝匱返城、若我蒙恩於耶和華前、必使我反、見匱及其居所、

王謂撒督曰、舁上帝之匱入城、如我蒙恩於耶和華前、則將使我反、見匱亦見聖幕。

王謂撒督曰、舁天主匱歸於邑、如我蒙恩於主前、則將使我返、使我復見之、與其居所、

Then the king said to Zadok,“ Take the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the Lord’s eyes, he will bring me back and let me see it and his dwelling place again.

Then the king said to Zadok,“ Take the ark of God back into the city. If the Lord is pleased with me, he’ll bring me back. He’ll let me see the ark again. He’ll also let me see Jerusalem again. That’s the place where he lives.

Then the king said to Zadok,“ Carry the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me back and let me see both it and his dwelling place.

Then the king instructed Zadok to take the Ark of God back into the city.“ If the Lord sees fit,” David said,“ he will bring me back to see the Ark and the Tabernacle again.

Then the king instructed Zadok,“ Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor with the LORD, he will bring me back and allow me to see both it and its dwelling place.

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favor in the eyes of Jehovah, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:

Then the king instructed Zadok,“ Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor in the Lord’s eyes, He will bring me back and allow me to see both it and its dwelling place.

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me[ both] it, and his habitation:

Then the king said to Zadok,“ Take the ark of God back to the city. If I find favor in the LORD’s sight he will bring me back and enable me to see both it and his dwelling place again.

“ Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them,“‘ Yahweh will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Yahweh, I love the habitation of your house, the place where your glory dwells.

Oh, send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill, to your tents.Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.

“ You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.

How lovely are your dwellings, Yahweh of Armies!My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of Yahweh. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.Yes, the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young, near your altars, Yahweh of Armies, my King, and my God.

For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, I will seek your good.

Don’t trust in lying words, saying,‘ Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, are these.’

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

They brought in Yahweh’s ark, and set it in its place, in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.

I was glad when they said to me,“ Let’s go to Yahweh’s house!”

When the people had come into the camp, the elders of Israel said,“ Why has Yahweh defeated us today before the Philistines? Let’s get the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of Shiloh and bring it to us, that it may come among us and save us out of the hand of our enemies.”So the people sent to Shiloh, and they brought from there the ark of the covenant of Yahweh of Armies, who sits above the cherubim; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.When the ark of Yahweh’s covenant came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth resounded.When the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said,“ What does the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews mean?” They understood that Yahweh’s ark had come into the camp.The Philistines were afraid, for they said,“ God has come into the camp.” They said,“ Woe to us! For there has not been such a thing before.Woe to us! Who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods that struck the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues in the wilderness.Be strong and behave like men, O you Philistines, that you not be servants to the Hebrews, as they have been to you. Strengthen yourselves like men, and fight!”The Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and each man fled to his tent. There was a very great slaughter; for thirty thousand footmen of Israel fell.God’s ark was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

the king said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but God’s ark dwells within curtains.”

Hezekiah also had said,“ What is the sign that I will go up to Yahweh’s house?”

One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple.For in the day of trouble, he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the secret place of his tabernacle, he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.

Now therefore the sword will never depart from your house, because you have despised me, and have taken Uriah the Hittite’s wife to be your wife.’“ This is what Yahweh says:‘ Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor, and he will lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.

God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.
