Zadok was there, too, and all the Levites who were with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. They set down the ark of God, and Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had finished leaving the city.

And Abiathar came up, and behold, Zadok came also with all the Levites, bearing the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God until the people had all passed out of the city.

全营出发的时候，亚伦和他的儿子，把圣所和圣所的一切器具遮盖完了以后，哥辖的子孙就要来抬；只是他们不可触摸圣物，免得他们死亡。会幕里这些物件是哥辖的子孙应当抬的。

亚希突的儿子撒督和亚比亚他的儿子亚希米勒作祭司长，西莱雅作书记，

示法作书记。撒督和亚比亚他作祭司长；

亚希突的儿子亚希米勒有一个儿子，名叫亚比亚他，逃过了大难，就逃去跟随大卫。

并派七个祭司拿着七个羊角，走在约柜的前面；到第七天，你们要绕城七次，祭司也要吹角。

神的约柜也被抢去，以利的两个儿子何弗尼和非尼哈也死了。

“吩咐抬约柜的祭司从约旦河上来。”于是约书亚吩咐祭司说：“你们从约旦河上来。”抬耶和华约柜的祭司从约旦河中间上来的时候，祭司的脚掌一提起来踏在干地上，约旦河的水就流回原处，像以前一样涨过两岸。

吩咐人民说：“你们看见耶和华你们的神的约柜，又看见抬约柜的利未支派的祭司的时候，就要从你们所住的地方出发，跟在约柜后面走。

这地要归给祭司，就是撒督子孙中分别为圣的。他们守我所吩咐的职责；以色列人走迷路的时候，他们不像利未人那样走迷路。

王又对撒督祭司说：“你不是先见吗？平平安安地回到城里去吧！你的儿子亚希玛斯和亚比亚他的儿子约拿单要与你一同回去。

军队回到营里，以色列的长老说：“今天耶和华为什么在非利士人面前击败我们呢？我们要把耶和华的约柜从示罗抬到我们这里来。约柜一到我们中间，就会拯救我们脱离仇敌的手。”于是他们派人到示罗去，从那里把坐在二基路伯中间万军之耶和华的约柜抬来；以利的两个儿子，何弗尼和非尼哈，也与神的约柜一同来了。耶和华的约柜来到营中的时候，以色列众人就大声欢呼，大地也回声响应。

抬约柜的祭司来到约旦河，他们的脚碰到水边的时候（原来约旦河水在收割的日子，常是涨过两岸的），水就停住了，那从上游流下来的水立起成垒，在很远的地方，就是在撒拉但旁边的亚当城那里停住；那往下流入亚拉巴海，就是盐海的水完全被截断；于是人民就在耶利哥的对面过了河。抬耶和华约柜的祭司在约旦河中间的干地上站住，等以色列众人都在干地上走过去，直到全国的人都完全走过了约旦河为止。

但撒督祭司、耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅，拿单先知、示每、利以和大卫的勇士都不拥护亚多尼雅。

以下这些人是他的官员：撒督的儿子亚撒利雅作祭司；示沙的两个儿子以利何烈和亚希亚作书记；亚希律的儿子约沙法作史官；耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅统领军队；撒督和亚比亚他作祭司；

约书亚又吩咐祭司说：“你们要抬起约柜，在人民前面过河去。”于是他们抬起约柜，走在人民的前面。

那时大卫说：“神的约柜，除了利未人以外，没有人可以抬，因为耶和华拣选了他们抬神的约柜，并且永远事奉他。”

但是没有分给哥辖的子孙，因为他们所办的事是圣所的事，是要用肩头抬的。

撒督祭司和亚比亚他不是都在那里与你在一起吗？你在王宫里听见的话，都要告诉撒督祭司和亚比亚他。

亚希突生撒督，撒督生亚希玛斯，亚希玛斯生亚撒利雅，亚撒利雅生约哈难，约哈难生亚撒利雅（这亚撒利雅曾在耶路撒冷所罗门建造的圣殿中作祭司），亚撒利雅生亚玛利雅，亚玛利雅生亚希突，亚希突生撒督，撒督生沙龙，

于是嫩的儿子约书亚把祭司召了来，对他们说：“你们要抬起约柜；并派七个祭司拿着七个羊角，走在耶和华约柜的前面。”

王任命耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅取代约押统领军队；又任命撒督祭司取代亚比亚他的职位。

那些抬耶和华的约柜的人走了六步，大卫就献一头公牛和一只肥畜为祭。
