But Ittai said to the king,“ I vow by the Lord and by your own life that I will go wherever my lord the king goes, no matter what happens— whether it means life or death.”

以太对王说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，又敢在王面前起誓：无论生死，王在哪里，仆人也必在那里。”

以太回答王说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，又敢在王面前起誓：无论生死，王在哪里，你的仆人也必在哪里。”

以太回答王说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，又敢在王面前起誓：无论生死，王在哪里，你的仆人也必在哪里。”

以太却答道：“我凭永活的耶和华和我主我王的性命起誓，不管我王去哪里，仆人都要誓死追随到底！”

以太回答王说：“我指着永活的耶和华，在我主我王面前起誓，无论我主我王在什么地方，或生或死，你仆人也必在那里。”

以太對王說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，又敢在王面前起誓：無論生死，王在哪裏，僕人也必在那裏。」

以太卻答道：「我憑永活的耶和華和我主我王的性命起誓，不管我王去哪裡，僕人都要誓死追隨到底！」

以太回答王說：“我指著永活的耶和華，在我主我王面前起誓，無論我主我王在甚麼地方，或生或死，你僕人也必在那裡。”

乙太回答王說：『我指着永活的永恆主來起誓，也指着我主我王的性命來起誓，無論我主我王在甚麼地方，或死或活，僕人總要在那裏的。』

伊太回答王說：「我指著耶和華的永生和我主我王的生命起誓：無論我主我王在什麼地方，無論是生是死，僕人都必在那裡。」

以太曰、我指維生之耶和華、及我主我王之生命而誓、我主我王所在、僕必與偕、死生以之、

以太曰、我指耶和華而誓、亦指我主我王以誓、我主我王所往、臣僕必偕、雖生死而弗渝。

But Ittai replied to the king,“ As surely as the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be.”

But Ittai replied to the king,“ You are my king and master. I want to be where you are. It doesn’t matter whether I live or die. And that’s just as sure as the Lord and you are alive.”

But Ittai answered the king,“ As the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king shall be, whether for death or for life, there also will your servant be.”

But in response, Ittai vowed to the king,“ As the LORD lives and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king is, whether it means life or death, your servant will be there!”

But Ittai answered the king and said,“ As the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether for death or for life, there assuredly shall your servant be!”

But Ittai answered the king and said,“ As the Lord lives, and as my Lord the king lives, surely in whatever place my Lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also your servant will be.”

And Ittai answered the king, and said, As Jehovah liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether for death or for life, even there also will thy servant be.

But in response, Ittai vowed to the king,“ As the Lord lives and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king is, whether it means life or death, your servant will be there!”

And Ittai answered the king, and said,[ As] the LORD liveth, and[ as] my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be.

But Ittai replied to the king,“ As surely as the LORD lives and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king is, whether dead or alive, there I will be as well!”

Ittai answered the king, and said,“ As Yahweh lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in what place my lord the king is, whether for death or for life, your servant will be there also.”

But Ruth replied,“ Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!”

A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.

There are“ friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.

Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”But Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.”

Then Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Jericho.” But Elisha replied again,“ As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you.” So they went on together to Jericho.

When he arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord.

Then Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to the Jordan River.” But again Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you.” So they went on together.

I’m not saying this to condemn you. I said before that you are in our hearts, and we live or die together with you.

At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted him.Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked,“ Are you also going to leave?”Simon Peter replied,“ Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God.”

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you!” So they went down together to Bethel.

“ Now, my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, since the Lord has kept you from murdering and taking vengeance into your own hands, let all your enemies and those who try to harm you be as cursed as Nabal is.

But the boy’s mother said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I won’t go home unless you go with me.” So Elisha returned with her.

But he said,“ Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.”

Then David took an oath before Jonathan and said,“ Your father knows perfectly well about our friendship, so he has said to himself,‘ I won’t tell Jonathan— why should I hurt him?’ But I swear to you that I am only a step away from death! I swear it by the Lord and by your own soul!”
