The king asked,“ Did Joab put you up to all this?” The woman answered.“ As you live, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right or left from all my lord the king says. Yes, your servant Joab is the one who gave orders to me; he told your servant exactly what to say.

王说：“这是不是约押的主意？”妇人说：“我敢在我主我王面前发誓，王所说的一点不错，这些话是你臣仆约押吩咐婢女说的。

王问：“这一切都是约押一手安排的吗？”妇人回答：“我指着我主我王起誓，王所说的丝毫不差。这正是王的仆人约押吩咐我的，这一切话也都是他教婢女说的。

王說：「你這些話莫非是約押的主意嗎？」婦人說：「我敢在我主我王面前起誓：王的話正對，不偏左右，是王的僕人約押吩咐我的，這些話是他教導我的。

王說：「這是不是約押的主意？」婦人說：「我敢在我主我王面前發誓，王所說的一點不錯，這些話是你臣僕約押吩咐婢女說的。

王問：“這一切都是約押一手安排的嗎？”婦人回答：“我指著我主我王起誓，王所說的絲毫不差。這正是王的僕人約押吩咐我的，這一切話也都是他教婢女說的。

王說：『這一切話莫非有約押的手幫着你麼？』婦人回答說：『我主我王啊，我指着你的性命來起誓：對我主我王所說的這一切、是沒有人能偏左偏右的：這確是王的僕人約押吩咐我的；這一切話是他口授給你婢女的。

王就問：「這一切都是約押一手安排的嗎？」婦人回答說：「我指著我主我王的生命起誓：我主我王所說的一切不偏左右，正是你的臣僕約押吩咐我的，是他把這一切話教給了你的婢女。

王曰、此事非約押與爾同謀乎、婦曰、我主我王歟、我指爾生命以誓、我主我王所言、無人能左右轉移之、蓋爾僕約押命我、以此言授婢、

王曰、爾之言此、非為約押所使乎。婦曰、我主我王歟、我指爾生命以誓、我主我王、所言確然、弗爽毫釐、爾臣僕約押囑我言。

婦曰、我指我主我王之生命而誓、我主我王之言確然、無人能或左或右非之、王之僕約押命婢、約押以此諸言教婢、以此諸言教婢原文作以此諸言授婢口

The king asked,“ Isn’t the hand of Joab with you in all this?” The woman answered,“ As surely as you live, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right or to the left from anything my lord the king says. Yes, it was your servant Joab who instructed me to do this and who put all these words into the mouth of your servant.

The king asked,“ Joab told you to say all of this, didn’t he?” The woman answered,“ What you have told me is exactly right. And that’s just as sure as you are alive. It’s true that Joab directed me to do this. He told me everything he wanted me to say.

The king said,“ Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” The woman answered and said,“ As surely as you live, my lord the king, one cannot turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my lord the king has said. It was your servant Joab who commanded me; it was he who put all these words in the mouth of your servant.

“ Did Joab put you up to this?” And the woman replied,“ My lord the king, how can I deny it? Nobody can hide anything from you. Yes, Joab sent me and told me what to say.

The king asked,“ Did Joab put you up to all this?” The woman answered.“ As you live, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right or left from all my lord the king says. Yes, your servant Joab is the one who gave orders to me; he told your servant exactly what to say.

So the king said,“ Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” And the woman replied,“ As your soul lives, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right or to the left from anything that my lord the king has spoken. Indeed, it was your servant Joab who commanded me, and it was he who put all these words in the mouth of your servant.

So the king said,“ Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” And the woman answered and said,“ As you live, my Lord the king, no one can turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my Lord the king has spoken. For your servant Joab commanded me, and he put all these words in the mouth of your maidservant.

And the king said, Is the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from aught that my lord the king hath spoken; for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thy handmaid;

And the king said,[ Is not] the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said,[ As] thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:

The king said,“ Did Joab put you up to all of this?” The woman answered,“ As surely as you live, my lord the king, there is no deviation to the right or to the left from all that my lord the king has said. For your servant Joab gave me instructions. He has put all these words in your servant’s mouth.

The king said,“ Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” The woman answered,“ As your soul lives, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my lord the king has spoken; for your servant Joab urged me, and he put all these words in the mouth of your servant.

Go to the king and speak these words to him.” Then Joab told her exactly what to say.

“ Please, my lord,” she said,“ as sure as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord.

for I will give you such words and a wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

“ You also know what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me and what he did to the two commanders of Israel’s army, Abner son of Ner and Amasa son of Jether. He murdered them in a time of peace to avenge blood shed in war. He spilled that blood on his own waistband and on the sandals of his feet.Act according to your wisdom, and do not let his gray head descend to Sheol in peace.

Don’t turn to the right or to the left; keep your feet away from evil.

When Saul had seen David going out to confront the Philistine, he asked Abner the commander of the army,“ Whose son is this youth, Abner?”“ My king, as surely as you live, I don’t know,” Abner replied.

Your hands were not bound, your feet not placed in bronze shackles. You fell like one who falls victim to criminals. And all the people wept over him even more.

The next morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah.In the letter he wrote: Put Uriah at the front of the fiercest fighting, then withdraw from him so that he is struck down and dies.

Please let us travel through your land. We won’t travel through any field or vineyard, or drink any well water. We will travel the King’s Highway; we won’t turn to the right or the left until we have traveled through your territory.’”

May it hang over Joab’s head and his father’s whole house, and may the house of Joab never be without someone who has a discharge or a skin disease, or a man who can only work a spindle, or someone who falls by the sword or starves.”

Now my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, it is the Lord who kept you from participating in bloodshed and avenging yourself by your own hand. May your enemies and those who want trouble for my lord be like Nabal.

and Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the Lord is sending me on to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Do not turn aside to the right or the left from all the things I am commanding you today, and do not go after other gods to worship them.

When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab pulled him aside to the middle of the gateway, as if to speak to him privately, and there Joab stabbed him in the stomach. So Abner died in revenge for the death of Asahel, Joab’s brother.

Above all, be strong and very courageous to carefully observe the whole instruction My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you will have success wherever you go.

But David said,“ Your father certainly knows that you have come to look favorably on me. He has said,‘ Jonathan must not know of this, or else he will be grieved.’” David also swore,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, there is but a step between me and death.”

“ Be careful to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or the left.

Uriah answered David,“ The ark, Israel, and Judah are dwelling in tents, and my master Joab and his soldiers are camping in the open field. How can I enter my house to eat and drink and sleep with my wife? As surely as you live and by your life, I will not do this!”
