但是我告訴你們：凡看見婦女就動淫念的，這人心裏已經與她犯姦淫了。

「我與眼睛立約，怎能凝望少女呢？

第二天，他們走路將近那城，約在正午，彼得上房頂去禱告。

你不要因她的美色而動心，也不要被她的眼皮勾引。

「你若建造新房屋，要在屋頂安欄杆，免得有人從屋頂掉下來，血就歸於你家。

於是女人見那棵樹好作食物，又悅人的眼目，那樹令人喜愛，能使人有智慧，她就摘下果子吃了，又給了與她一起的丈夫，他也吃了。

求你叫我轉眼不看虛假，使我活在你的道路中。

再睡片時，打盹片時，抱着雙臂躺臥片時，你的貧窮就如盜賊來到，你的貧乏彷彿拿盾牌的人來臨。

魅力是虛假的，美貌是虛浮的；惟敬畏耶和華的婦女必得稱讚。

耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大君王的宮殿，就是他們在其上向天上的萬象燒香、向別神獻澆酒祭的宮殿房屋，都必被玷污，和陀斐特一樣。』」

所以，我們不要沉睡，像別人一樣，總要警醒謹慎。因為睡了的人是在夜間睡，醉了的人是在夜間醉。

他回到門徒那裏，見他們睡着了，就對彼得說：「怎麼樣？你們不能同我警醒一小時嗎？總要警醒禱告，免得陷入試探。你們心靈固然願意，肉體卻軟弱了。」

他們進到房子的時候，伊施‧波設正躺在臥房的床上，他們就把他殺死，割了他的首級，拿着首級在亞拉巴的路上走了一整夜。

神的兒子們看見人的女子美貌，就隨意挑選，娶來為妻。

萬物的結局近了。所以你們要謹慎自守，要警醒禱告。

懶惰使人沉睡，懈怠的人必捱餓。

那地的族長希未人哈抹的兒子示劍看見她，就拉住她，與她同寢，玷辱了她。

我在暗中告訴你們的，你們要在明處說出來；你們耳中所聽的，要在屋頂上宣揚出來。

他們從丘壇下來進城，撒母耳和掃羅在房頂上說話。

比錄人臨門的兩個兒子利甲和巴拿出去，天正熱的時候到了伊施‧波設的家。那時，伊施‧波設在睡午覺。
