因此，耶和华正在等候，准备施恩给你们，祂必怜悯你们。因为耶和华是公义的上帝，等候祂的人有福了！

但主啊，你是有怜悯和恩典的上帝，不轻易发怒，充满慈爱，无比信实。

难道上帝听到祂拣选的人昼夜呼求，不替他们申冤吗？难道祂会一直耽延不理吗？我告诉你们，祂必很快为他们申冤。不过当人子来的时候，在世上找得到有信心的人吗？”

我曾给她悔改的机会，她却不肯悔改、离弃自己的淫乱行为，

但我依然蒙了怜悯，因为耶稣基督要在我这个罪魁身上彰显祂无限的忍耐，使我做那些要信靠祂并得到永生之人的榜样。

你们要把耶稣的宽容看作是让众人得救的机会，正如我们亲爱的弟兄保罗按着上帝赐给他的智慧写信告诉你们的。

耶和华在摩西面前经过，并且宣告说：“我是耶和华，我是耶和华，是有怜悯和恩典的上帝，不轻易发怒，充满慈爱，无比信实，

因为“将要来临的那位很快要来了，绝不迟延。

他们就是从前在挪亚造方舟、上帝耐心等候人们悔改的时代中那些不肯信的人。当时进入方舟，从洪水中得救的人很少，只有八个人。

倘若上帝要显示祂的烈怒和权能，就尽量容忍那些祂预备要毁灭的器皿，

我要亲自施行公义，那一天已经不远，我的救恩很快就会来临。我要在锡安赐下救恩，把我的荣耀赐给以色列。

如果你这样做，并且上帝也这样吩咐你，你就能承受得住，百姓也可以平安地回家。”

恳求你赦免他们的罪，不然请你从你的册子上抹掉我的名字吧。”

在会幕内，耶和华跟摩西面对面说话，好像两个朋友谈话一样。然后，摩西返回营中，但他的年轻助手、嫩的儿子约书亚仍然留在会幕。
