The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

那麼，主知道搭救敬虔的人脫離試煉，把不義的人留在懲罰之下等候審判的日子，

上帝知道怎樣拯救敬虔的人脫離試煉，把不義的人拘禁在刑罰之下，等候審判的日子，

主知道怎樣搭救敬虔的人脫離試探，又把不義的人留下來，等候在審判的日子受刑罰，

既然如此，主當然也曉得怎樣援救敬虔的人脫離試煉，怎樣拘留不義的人、等候着審判的日子來受刑罰；

那麼，主就知道怎樣拯救敬神的人脫離試煉，卻把不義的人留在懲罰之下，直到審判的日子，

主知拯虔者於試中、而留不義者於刑下、以待鞫日、

惟主救敬虔之人、免於患難、而留不義者、待鞫日受刑、

惟主知拯救虔敬之人、脫於苦難、而留不義之人、待審判之日受刑、

觀此可見天主固知何以脫善人於危難、而將惡人留待審判之日、以受顯罰。

if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.

Since all this is true, then the Lord knows how to save godly people. He knows how to keep them safe in times of testing. The Lord also knows how to keep ungodly people under guard. He will do so until the day they will be judged and punished.

So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God[ is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear[ it].

The eyes of the LORD[ are] upon the righteous, and his ears[ are open] unto their cry.The face of the LORD[ is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.[ The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.The LORD[ is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.Many[ are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard[ speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things[ done] in[ his] body, according to that he hath done, whether[ it be] good or bad.Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

The LORD hath made all[ things] for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast[ them] down to hell, and delivered[ them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.

Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
