此外，所多瑪、蛾摩拉及其附近城鎮的人同樣因為荒淫無度、沉溺於變態的情慾而遭到永火的刑罰。這些事都成為我們的警戒。

又像羅得的時代，人們吃喝、做買賣、耕地、蓋房。在羅得離開所多瑪那天，烈火和硫磺從天而降，把他們全毀滅了。「人子顯現之日的情形也是如此。

以致大地裂開將他們全部吞了下去，當時大火還燒滅了二百五十人——成了後人的警戒。

遍地將是硫磺和鹽，無法耕種，寸草不生，如同耶和華盛怒之下毀滅的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪和洗扁。

耶和華從天上把燃燒的硫磺降在所多瑪和蛾摩拉兩地，毀滅了這兩座城和其中的居民，包括整個平原和地上的植物。

發生在他們身上的這些事都是鑑戒，之所以記錄下來是為了警戒我們這活在末世的人。

上帝要毀滅巴比倫，像毀滅所多瑪、蛾摩拉及其周圍的城邑一樣，使那裡人煙絕跡。這是耶和華說的。

向所多瑪、蛾摩拉和整個平原眺望，只見那裡濃煙滾滾，好像火窯的煙一樣。

「我在你們中間施行毀滅，如從前毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣，使你們像從火裡抽出的一根柴。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

巴比倫在列國中輝煌無比，是迦勒底人的榮耀，但上帝必毀滅她，好像毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣。

以法蓮啊，我怎能捨棄你？以色列啊，我怎能棄絕你？我怎能使你的下場如押瑪？我怎能對待你如對待洗扁？我的心意改變，我滿懷憐愛。

看啊，你妹妹所多瑪和她的女兒們傲慢狂妄，安逸飽足，對窮困的人漠不關心。她們心驕氣傲，在我面前做可憎的事，我看見後便除掉了她們。撒瑪利亞的罪還不及你的一半，你做的事比她們做的更可憎，以致與你相比，你的姊妹倒顯得公義了。既然你幫了你的姊妹，使她們顯得公義，你就蒙受羞辱吧！因為你犯的罪比你姊妹犯的罪更可憎，以致她們顯得比你更公義。因此，你就自取其辱，抱愧蒙羞吧！「『然而，我要使所多瑪、撒瑪利亞及她們的女兒們復興，並使你一同復興，讓你自取其辱，深感羞愧，因為你的一切惡行使她們反得安慰。你姊妹所多瑪、撒瑪利亞和她們的眾女兒，以及你和你的眾女兒必恢復起初的光景。在你驕傲的日子，你的惡行還沒有被揭露的時候，你覺得妹妹所多瑪不屑一提。但現在，你卻成為以東的眾女兒和她四鄰非利士的眾女兒的笑柄。你周圍的人都鄙視你。

要審判所有的人，按不虔不敬的罪人所行的惡事和他們褻瀆上帝的話定他們的罪。」
