For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.

that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.

but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.Then Peter answered and said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying,“ This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.But Jesus came and touched them and said,“ Arise, and do not be afraid.”When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth.

who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?

and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying,“ All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.
