我覺得應當趁著我還在世的時候提醒你們，激勵你們，

我以为应当趁我还在这帐棚的时候提醒你们，激发你们；

蓋吾一日寓此塵宅、即一日有予爾激發之天職；

I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,

親愛的弟兄姊妹，我現在寫給你們的是第二封信。這兩封信都是為了提醒你們，激勵你們保持真誠的心，

因我知道自己離世的日子已經不遠了，正如我們的主耶穌基督指示我的。

要設身處地地顧念那些被囚禁的人，要感同身受地顧念那些遭遇苦難的人。

是的，我們坦然無懼，甚至更樂意離開身體，回到天家與主相聚。

我們知道，我們的身體好比是地上的帳篷，如果毀壞了，我們就從上帝那裡得到一個住處，不是人手造的，而是天上永恆的「房屋」。我們在這地上的「帳篷」裡歎息，渴望早日遷進那天上的「房屋」，好像更換衣服一樣。我們一旦穿上新衣，就不會赤身露體了。我們在這「帳篷」裡勞苦歎息，並非想脫去這地上的身體，而是切望能穿上那天上的新身體，讓永恆的生命吞滅必朽的身體。

因此我提醒你，要把上帝在我把手按在你身上時賜給你的恩賜充分發揮出來。

耶和華感動撒拉鐵的兒子猶大省長所羅巴伯、約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞和所有的餘民，他們就動工建造他們的上帝萬軍之耶和華的殿，

雖然你們已經知道這些事，並且在所領受的真道上也很堅固，但我還是要常常提醒你們。
