雖然這一切事情你們都早已知道，我仍然要提醒你們：從前主從埃及地把人民救出來，跟著就把那些不信的人除滅了。

但你們呢，親愛的，你們要記住我們主耶穌基督的使徒從前所說的話。

趁著我還在世上（“在世上”原文作“在這帳棚”）的時候，我認為應當提醒你們，使你們常常警醒，

我藉著我認為忠心的弟兄西拉，簡略地寫了這封信勸勉你們，又向你們證實這是神真正的恩典；你們要在這恩典上站立得住。

親愛的，我現在寫給你們的是第二封信。在這兩封信中，我都用提醒的話來激發你們真誠的心，

我也要努力，使你們在我去世以後，還時常追念這些事。

親愛的，儘管我曾經迫切地想寫信給你們，論到我們共享的救恩；現在我更覺得必須寫信勸勉你們，要竭力維護從前一次就全交給了聖徒的信仰，

所以，親愛的，你們既然預先知道了，就要謹慎，免得受惡人的錯謬引導，就從自己堅固的地步上墜落。

但滿有恩典的神，就是在基督裡召你們進入他永遠榮耀的那一位，在你們受了短暫的苦難之後，必定親自成全你們，堅固你們，賜力量給你們，建立你們。

你們要回想從前的日子，那時，你們蒙了光照，忍受了許多痛苦的煎熬；

你們不要被各樣怪異的教訓勾引去了。人心靠著恩典，而不是靠著食物得到堅定，才是好的；因為那些拘守食物的人，從來沒有得過益處。

為了這緣故，我提醒你，要把神藉著我按手給你的恩賜，像火一樣再挑旺起來。

你若把這些事提醒弟兄們，就是基督耶穌的好僕役，常在信仰的話語上，和你所遵從美善的教訓上得著培養。

按著你們所領受的教導，在他裡面扎根、建造，信心堅定，滿有感謝的心。

於是眾教會信心越發堅固，人數天天增加。
