故望兄弟益加奮勉、孳孳為善、務使爾之聖召恩選、根深秪固、確乎不拔。爾能遵此而行、則永無失足之虞；

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,

As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like.They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, (niv)

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, (niv)

who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken. (niv)
