You are to destroy the house of Ahab your master, and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the Lord’s servants shed by Jezebel.

You must destroy the royal house of your master Ahab. I will pay them back for spilling the blood of my servants the prophets. I will also pay them back for the blood of all the Lord’ s servants that Jezebel spilled.

And you shall strike down the house of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge on Jezebel the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord.

“ Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people.”

But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.

‘ Behold, I will bring calamity on you. I will take away your posterity, and will cut off from Ahab every male in Israel, both bond and free.

Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.’

And he looked up at the window, and said,“ Who is on my side? Who?” So two or three eunuchs looked out at him.Then he said,“ Throw her down.” So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot.And when he had gone in, he ate and drank. Then he said,“ Go now, see to this accursed woman, and bury her, for she was a king’s daughter.”So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.Therefore they came back and told him. And he said,“ This is the word of the Lord, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying,‘ On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say,“ Here lies Jezebel.”’”

O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud.Lord, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph?They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.They break in pieces Your people, O Lord, And afflict Your heritage.They slay the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless.Yet they say,“ The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob understand.”

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

“ Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!”

that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.And they cried with a loud voice, saying,“ How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.”

For we know Him who said,“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again,“ The Lord will judge His people.”
