You are to destroy the house of Ahab your master, and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the Lord’s servants shed by Jezebel.

You must destroy the royal house of your master Ahab. I will pay them back for spilling the blood of my servants the prophets. I will also pay them back for the blood of all the Lord’ s servants that Jezebel spilled.

And you shall strike down the house of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge on Jezebel the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord.

You are to destroy the family of Ahab, your master. In this way, I will avenge the murder of my prophets and all the Lord’s servants who were killed by Jezebel.

耶洗別殺主之先知時、俄巴底以先知一百人藏匿、每五十人匿於一穴、供其飲食、原文作以餅與水養之下同

耶洗別聞拿伯被石擊死、謂亞哈曰、耶斯烈人拿伯之葡萄園、不願以金鬻爾者、爾起、據而得之、蓋拿伯今不在矣、已死矣、

列族主民皆當歡樂、或作異邦諸族當與主之民同樂主為其僕見殺復仇、或作主之僕其血見流主必為之復仇必報復其敵、矜恤其地與民、○

自昔以來、未有若亞哈情甘自棄、行惡於主前者、蓋為其后耶洗別所慫恿、

主云、我必降災於爾、盡滅爾家、凡屬爾之男、或主或作已長大之人或僕、或作未長大之人必絕之於以色列人中、

懲罰在我我必報復、其足躓蹶必有其時、彼之受禍其日伊邇、當受之報速臨其身、

耶戶仰面向窗、曰、誰願助我、有二三宦官、自窗觀之、耶戶曰、擲之下、遂擲之下、其血濺於墻、亦濺於馬、遂踐踏之、耶戶入宮、式食式飲、命曰、當往尋此可詛之婦而葬之、蓋其為王女也、往欲葬之、僅得其頭顱與足及手掌而已、遂返告耶戶、耶戶曰、此應主藉其僕提斯比人以利亞所言者、云、耶洗別必在耶斯烈田、為犬所食、耶洗別之屍在耶斯烈田、如糞在田、甚至人不得指之曰、是乃耶洗別也、

主天主歟、復仇在主、天主歟、復仇在主、求主彰榮顯威、求審判世人之主興起、報應驕傲之人、主歟、惡人得意快樂、將至何時、彼眾肆口而出狂言、一切行惡者、皆自矜誇、主歟、彼眾蹂躪主之百姓、苦害主之子民、殺戮寡婦客旅、害死孤兒、乃曰主必不能見、雅各之天主必不能知、

愛友乎、勿伸己冤、寧禁止爾怒、寧禁止爾怒或作人忿怒寧聽之經載主曰、伸冤在我、我必報應、又云、

秉權者、天主之僕也、原以益爾、爾若行惡、則誠可畏、蓋彼不徒操生殺之權、操生殺之權原文作文作操刀乃為天主之僕、嚴加刑於作惡之人、

天乎、諸聖徒及諸先知乎、爾曹當歡樂、因天主已報之為爾伸冤、○

致地上流義人之血、皆歸於爾、即自義人亞伯之血、至爾所殺於殿及祭臺間巴拉迦子撒迦利亞之血也、

既啟第五印、我見祭臺下、有為天主之道、及為所證之證被殺者之魂、大聲呼曰、聖且誠之主歟、不審判居於地之人、為我儕伸流血之冤、將至何時、

天主之選民、晝夜籲禱天主、其應允或遲、豈不終伸其冤乎、我告爾、必速伸其冤矣、但人子臨時、豈見世有信德乎、○

其審判惟真與公、已審判淫亂敗世之大淫婦、彼流天主僕人之血、今天主報之、為僕人伸冤、

經載主云、罰惡在我、我必報之、言此者、我儕知之、又曰、主必審鞫其民、
