耶和華對所膏的居魯士如此說，他的右手我曾攙扶，使列國降服在他面前，列王的腰帶我曾鬆開，使城門在他面前敞開，不得關閉：

這是眾守望者所發的命令，是眾聖者所作的決定，好叫世人知道至高者在人的國中掌權，要將國賜給誰就賜給誰，並且立極卑微的人執掌國權。』

但他的心高傲，靈也剛愎，以致行事狂傲，就被革去國度的王位，奪走榮耀。他被趕出離開世人，他的心變為獸心，與野驢同住，吃草如牛，身體被天上的露水滴濕，直到他知道，至高的神在人的國中掌權，憑自己的旨意立人治國。

他改變時間、季節，他廢王，立王；將智慧賜給智慧人，將知識賜給聰明人。

你回去告訴耶羅波安說：『耶和華－以色列的神如此說：我從百姓中提拔了你，立你作我百姓以色列的君王，
