亞哈謝去訪問約蘭，因而招致了敗亡，這是出於上帝的；因為他到了就同約蘭出去攻打寧示的孫子耶戶；這耶戶是永恆主所膏立、使他剪滅亞哈家的。

『我，我已立我的君王於錫安、我的聖山上。』

『我既從塵土中舉起了你，立你做人君來管理我人民以色列，你竟走耶羅波安所走的路，使我人民以色列犯了罪，用他們的罪來惹我發怒，

你必被趕逐離開人類，你的住處必同山野的走獸在一起；你必受迫而喫草如牛，經過七個時期，等到你承認至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰，就賜給誰。』

僕人住在你所揀選的人民中；這人民之多、實在多得不能統計，不能數點。

我永恆主所膏立的古列，我拉他的右手，使列國降服在他面前；列王的腰帶我必鬆開；我必使門戶在他面前敞開，使一切大門不得關閉：我永恆主對古列這麼說；

因為不是從東或從西，不是從曠野或從山嶺；

永恆主你的上帝是當受祝頌的；他喜愛了你，使你在以色列的王位上；因為永恆主永遠喜愛以色列，所以他才立了你做王、來秉公行義。』

在那裏、祭司撒督和神言人拿單要膏立他為王來管理以色列；你們也要吹號角，說：「願所羅門王萬歲！」

這件事乃是由那些警衛者所發的命令；這事情是由那些聖者所傳的話，好叫眾生知道：至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰、就賜給誰；或是立極卑微的人執掌國權。」

但他心高氣傲，剛愎自用，就從他的國位上黜落下來，他的尊榮就被褫奪。他被趕逐離開人類；他的心變如走獸的心；他的住處同野驢在一起；他受迫而喫草如牛；他的身體被天露滴濕，等到他承認至高上帝在人國中掌權，都隨着自己的意旨立人來管理。

是他使時代和時期改變的；他廢王，他立王，他將智慧賜給智慧人，將知識賜給聰明人；

你去、對耶羅波安說：「永恆主以色列的上帝這麼說：『我既從人民中舉起了你，立你做人君來管理我人民以色列；
