哈薛說：「你僕人算什麼，不過是一條狗，怎能做這樣的大事呢？」以利沙說：「耶和華告訴我，你要做亞蘭王。」

耶和華吩咐他說：「你原路返回，前往大馬士革附近的曠野，到了之後要膏立哈薛做亞蘭王。

雅比的兒子沙龍謀反，當眾殺了撒迦利雅，篡位做了以色列王。撒迦利雅其他的事都記在以色列的列王史上。這件事應驗了從前耶和華對耶戶的應許：「你的子孫必做以色列王，一直到第四代。」猶大王烏西雅執政第三十九年，雅比的兒子沙龍登基，在撒瑪利亞執政一個月。迦底的兒子米拿現從得撒去撒瑪利亞殺了沙龍，篡位做了以色列王。

進去殺了他，篡了位。那一年是亞撒做猶大王第二十七年。

大衛的部下對大衛說：「耶和華說過要把你的仇敵交在你手中，任你處置，今天機會來了。」大衛就爬過去，偷偷割了掃羅外袍的一角。事後，大衛心裡不安，他對部下說：「我不該做這樣的事，我主是耶和華所膏立的王，我絕不出手傷害他，因為他是耶和華所膏立的。」大衛用這些話攔住他的部下，不讓他們殺掃羅。掃羅起來離開山洞走了，

所羅門的一個臣僕耶羅波安也叛變了。他是以法蓮支派洗利達人尼八的兒子，母親洗魯阿是個寡婦。以下是他反叛所羅門的緣由：當年所羅門建造米羅堡，修補大衛城的城牆時，發現年輕的耶羅波安勤奮能幹，就提拔他監管約瑟家族的一切工程。有一次，耶羅波安出了耶路撒冷，在路上遇見身披新衣的示羅人亞希雅先知。當時野外只有他們二人。亞希雅將身上的新衣撕作十二片，對耶羅波安說：「你可以拿十片。以色列的上帝耶和華說，『我必奪走所羅門的國，把十個支派賜給你。然而，為了我僕人大衛和我在以色列眾支派中揀選的耶路撒冷城，我會留下一個支派給所羅門。所羅門背棄了我，去祭拜西頓人的女神亞斯她錄、摩押的神明基抹、亞捫人的神明米勒公。他沒有遵行我的道，沒有做我視為正的事，也不像他父親大衛那樣遵守我的律例和典章。然而，我不會奪走他整個國，我會讓所羅門終生為王，因為我所揀選的僕人大衛遵守我的誡命和律法。我必從他兒子手中把國奪走，將十個支派賜給你，只給他兒子留下一個支派，好使我僕人大衛有後裔留在我選為居所的耶路撒冷城。我要讓你做王，使你如願地統治以色列。

比加轄的一名將軍、利瑪利的兒子比加謀反，率領五十名基列人在撒瑪利亞王宮裡刺殺了比加轄、亞珥歌伯和亞利耶。比加篡位做了以色列王。

俗語說，『惡事出於惡人』，所以我不會動手傷害你。

耶西就派人去叫他回來。他面色紅潤，眉清目秀，相貌英俊。耶和華說：「就是他，起來膏立他吧。」撒母耳就拿出盛膏油的角，當著他哥哥們的面膏立他。從那天起，耶和華的靈降在大衛身上。事後，撒母耳回拉瑪去了。

他們躺在床上盤算作惡，執意走罪惡的道路，無惡不作。

耶戶張弓搭箭，射中約蘭的後背，箭穿透他的心臟，他倒斃在車上。

躺在床上圖謀不軌、盤算作惡的人有禍了！天一亮，他們就依仗手中的權勢行惡。

烏西雅的兒子約坦執政第二十年，以拉的兒子何細亞謀反，殺了利瑪利的兒子比加，篡位做了以色列王。

大衛卻說：「不要殺他，誰殺害耶和華所膏立的王，都難逃罪責。我憑永活的耶和華起誓，耶和華必親手擊殺他。他要麼壽終而死，要麼命喪沙場。我在耶和華面前絕不敢出手傷害祂所膏立的王。我們拿走他旁邊的矛和水瓶吧。」

心利見城被攻破，就走進王宮的城堡中放火燒宮，自焚而死。

你們這些毀滅別人、自己還未被毀滅的人有禍了！等你們毀滅完了，就毀滅你們。你們這些欺詐別人、自己還未被欺詐的人有禍了！等你們欺詐完了，就欺詐你們。
