大馬士革的河亞罷拿和法珥法豈不比以色列的一切水更好嗎？我在那裏沐浴不得潔淨嗎？」於是氣忿忿地轉身去了。

大馬色之河、亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列諸水、豈不尤佳乎、我不可浴於彼、而得潔乎、遂忿然反身而去、

大馬色之河、亞巴拿與法法、較之以色列地之水、豈非尤善、濯身於彼、豈不能成潔乎。遂怒欲歸。

大瑪色之河亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列地諸水、豈不更美乎、我不可浴身於彼而得潔乎、於是轉身忿怒而去、

When the ones carrying the ark reached the Jordan and the feet of the priests carrying the ark touched the surface of the water–( the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest time)–the water coming downstream toward them stopped flowing. It piled up far upstream at Adam( the city near Zarethan); there was no water at all flowing to the sea of the Arabah( the Salt Sea). The people crossed the river opposite Jericho.The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan. All Israel crossed over on dry ground until the entire nation was on the other side.

Naaman said,“ If not, then please give your servant a load of dirt, enough for a pair of mules to carry, for your servant will never again offer a burnt offering or sacrifice to a god other than the LORD.

He took the cloak that had fallen off Elijah, hit the water with it, and said,“ Where is the LORD, THE God of Elijah?” When he hit the water, it divided and Elisha crossed over.

A person’s wisdom makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.

Moreover, on that day living waters will flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea; it will happen both in summer and in winter.

Elijah took his cloak, folded it up, and hit the water with it. The water divided, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground.
