Naaman went away angry. He said,“ Look, I thought for sure he would come out, stand there, invoke the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the area, and cure the skin disease.

But Naaman went away angry and said,“ I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.

But Naaman went away angry. He said,“ I was sure Elisha would come out to me. I thought he would stand there and pray to the Lord his God. I thought he would wave his hand over my skin. Then I would be healed.

Do not be wise in your own estimation; fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

But the centurion replied,“ Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Guard against self- deception, each of you. If someone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become foolish so that he can become wise.For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written,“ He catches the wise in their craftiness.”And again,“ The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”

So Jesus said to him,“ Unless you people see signs and wonders you will never believe!”

For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom,but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

After this many of his disciples quit following him and did not accompany him any longer.So Jesus said to the twelve,“ You don’t want to go away too, do you?”Simon Peter answered him,“ Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God!”

I tell you the solemn truth, whoever accepts the one I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”

But when the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he was very rich.

“ Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds,for just as the sky is higher than the earth, so my deeds are superior to your deeds and my plans superior to your plans.

For the waywardness of the simpletons will kill them, and the careless ease of fools will destroy them.

“ Yes, Lord,” she replied,“ but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”

With pride comes only contention, but wisdom is with the well-advised.

The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.The one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is understood by no one.For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Take care not to refuse the one who is speaking! For if they did not escape when they refused the one who warned them on earth, how much less shall we, if we reject the one who warns from heaven?
