大馬色之河、亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列諸水、豈不尤佳乎、我不可浴於彼、而得潔乎、遂忿然反身而去、

大馬色之河、亞巴拿與法法、較之以色列地之水、豈非尤善、濯身於彼、豈不能成潔乎。遂怒欲歸。

抬约柜的祭司来到约旦河，他们的脚碰到水边的时候（原来约旦河水在收割的日子，常是涨过两岸的），水就停住了，那从上游流下来的水立起成垒，在很远的地方，就是在撒拉但旁边的亚当城那里停住；那往下流入亚拉巴海，就是盐海的水完全被截断；于是人民就在耶利哥的对面过了河。抬耶和华约柜的祭司在约旦河中间的干地上站住，等以色列众人都在干地上走过去，直到全国的人都完全走过了约旦河为止。

乃缦说：“你若是不肯收取，就请你赐你仆人两头驴子可以驮的泥土，因为你的仆人不再献燔祭或别的祭给别的神，只献给耶和华。

他拿着从以利亚身上掉下来的外衣，击打河水，说：“耶和华以利亚的神在哪里呢？”他一击打河水，河水就左右分开，以利沙就走过去了。

那时候耶稣从加利利的拿撒勒来，在约旦河里受了约翰的洗。

“到那日，必有一个泉源，为大卫家和耶路撒冷的居民开放，洗除他们的罪恶和不洁。

轻易动怒的，行事愚妄；心怀诡计的人，被人恨恶。

然后，他带我回到圣殿的门口。有水正从殿的门槛往下流出来，向东流去，因为圣殿是朝东的。这水从殿的右边，从祭坛的南边下面流出来。他又带我从北门出来，再领我从外面绕到朝东的外门。有水正从右边流出来。那人手里拿着一根准绳向东走出去的时候，量了五百公尺的距离，然后领我从水中走过去，那里的水到了脚踝。他又量了五百公尺，然后领我从水中走过去，水到了膝盖。他又量了五百公尺，然后领我走过去，水到了腰。他再量了五百公尺，水已成了一条河，以致我不能走过去，因为水势高涨，成为只可供游泳的水，而不能走过去的河。他对我说：“人子啊！你看到了吗？”他就领着我，带我回到河边。我回来以后，看见河这边和那边的岸上有很多树木。他又对我说：“这水要向东方的地区流出去，下到亚拉巴，流入死海。这水流入死海，就使海里的水变淡（“变淡”原文作“得医治”）。

人的明慧使他不轻易动怒；宽恕别人过失的，是自己的荣耀。

到那日，必有活水从耶路撒冷流出来；一半流往东海，另一半流往西海；冬天夏天都是这样。

以利亚拿着自己的外衣，把它卷起，击打河水，河水就左右分开，他们二人就在干地上走过去了。
