But Naaman went away angry and said,“ I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.

But Naaman went away angry. He said,“ I was sure Elisha would come out to me. I thought he would stand there and pray to the Lord his God. I thought he would wave his hand over my skin. Then I would be healed.

But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

Naaman went away angry. He said,“ Look, I thought for sure he would come out, stand there, invoke the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the area, and cure the skin disease.

But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said,“ Behold, I thought,‘ He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.’

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

But the centurion replied,“ Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Take care that no one deceives himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written:“ He is the one who catches the wise by their craftiness”;and again,“ The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are useless.”

Then Jesus said to him,“ Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness,but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.For the foolishness of God is wiser than mankind, and the weakness of God is stronger than mankind.

As a result of this many of His disciples left, and would no longer walk with Him.So Jesus said to the twelve,“ You do not want to leave also, do you?”Simon Peter answered Him,“ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.And we have already believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.”

Truly, truly I say to you, the one who receives anyone I send, receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.

“ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.“ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.

For the faithlessness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.

And she said,“ Yes, Lord; but please help, for even the dogs feed on the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”

Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.

But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.But the one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no one.For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.
