婦人去告訴神人；神人說：『你去賣油，把錢還給債主；剩下的、你和你兒子可以靠着過活。』

妇人将经过告诉上帝的仆人，上帝的仆人对她说：“你去把油卖了还债，你们母子可以用剩下的钱度日。”

她去告诉神人，神人说：“你去把油卖掉，还清你的债务，你和你的儿子可以靠着剩下的过活。”

婦至上帝僕所以告。彼曰、可鬻此油、以償所貸之金、尚有餘焉、爾與爾子、以供日用。○

婦至神人前告之、神人曰、爾往售油償債、所餘者、爾與子可賴以度日、○

She went and told the man of God, and he said,“ Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

She went and told the man of God about it. He said,“ Go and sell the oil. Pay what you owe. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

She came and told the man of God, and he said,“ Go, sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”

When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her,“ Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.”

She went and told the man of God, and he said,“ Go sell the oil and pay your debt; you and your sons can live on the rest.”

So she came and told the man of God. And he said,“ Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”

She went and told the prophet. He said,“ Go, sell the olive oil. Repay your creditor, and then you and your sons can live off the rest of the profit.”

你們自己原知道該怎樣效法我們；因為我們在你們中間並沒有游手好閒，也沒有白喫過甚麼人的飯，倒是辛苦勞碌、黑夜白日地作工，免得加重你們任何人的負擔。這不是說我們沒有權利，我們乃是要將自己給你們做榜樣，讓你們效法我們。我們在你們那裏的時候、也屢次囑咐你們說：『人若不肯作工，就不該喫飯。』現在我們聽說你們中間有人游手好閒地流蕩，一事不作，反而好管閒事。對這樣的人，我們在主耶穌基督裏囑咐並勸勉、他們要安靜作工，喫自己的飯。

弟兄們，你們記得我們怎樣地辛苦勞碌：我們將上帝的福音宣傳給你們的時候、怎樣黑夜白日地作工，免得加重你們任何人的負擔。你們可以作見證，上帝也可以作證：我們待你們信的人是何等虔聖、正義、無可責備啊。

末了，弟兄們，凡是真誠的、莊重的、凡是正義的、清潔的、凡是可愛的、有美名的：若有甚麼美德、甚麼可稱讚之事——你們都要思念。

但是上帝的話卻傳與神人示瑪雅，說：

使你們行事為人讓外界看為端端正正有體面，不需要人賙濟。

不要以惡報惡；眾人以為美好的、務要籌謀。

惡人借貸而不償還；義人卻恩待人，並施捨人。
