耶稣问：“你们有多少饼？”门徒答道：“七个。”耶稣便吩咐大家坐在地上，然后拿着那七个饼祝谢了，掰开，递给门徒，让门徒分给大家，门徒就把饼分给大家。他们还有几条小鱼。耶稣祝谢了，叫门徒分给众人。大家都吃了，并且吃饱了，剩下的零碎装满了七个筐子。吃的人约有四千。耶稣让众人回家后，

耶稣拿起饼来祝谢后，分给坐着的众人，然后又照样分鱼，众人可以随意吃。

以利沙进了屋子，看见孩子死了，躺在床上，就关上门，向耶和华祈祷。

彼得叫她们都出去，自己跪下祷告，然后转身对死者说：“戴碧达，起来！”她便睁开了眼睛，看见彼得，就坐了起来。

耶稣说：“你们给他们吃的吧。”门徒说：“我们哪来这么多钱买东西给他们吃啊？”耶稣说：“看看你们有多少饼。”他们察看后，说：“有五个饼和两条鱼。”耶稣吩咐门徒叫大家分组坐在草地上。于是众人坐下，有的五十人一组，有的一百人一组。耶稣拿起那五个饼、两条鱼，举目望着天祝谢后，掰开递给门徒，让他们分给众人。祂又照样把那两条鱼分给众人。大家都吃了，并且吃饱了。门徒把剩下的碎饼、碎鱼收拾起来，装满了十二个篮子。当时吃饼的男人有五千。

你们祷告的时候，要进入内室，关上门，向你们肉眼看不见的父祈祷，鉴察隐秘事的父必赏赐你们。
