Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha,“ Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”

The wife of a man from the group of the prophets cried out to Elisha. She said,“ My husband is dead. You know how much respect he had for the Lord. But he owed money to someone. And now that person is coming to take my two boys away. They will become his slaves.”

Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha,“ Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”

One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out,“ My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.”

One of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha,“ Your servant, my husband, has died. You know that your servant feared the LORD. Now the creditor is coming to take my two children as his slaves.”

Now a woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,“ Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord; and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”

A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,“ Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear Jehovah: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two children to be bondmen.

One of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha,“ Your servant, my husband, has died. You know that your servant feared the Lord. Now the creditor is coming to take my two children as his slaves.”

Now a wife of one of the prophets appealed to Elisha for help, saying,“ Your servant, my husband is dead. You know that your servant was a loyal follower of the LORD. Now the creditor is coming to take away my two boys to be his servants.”

Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,“ Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”

And the sons of the prophets that[ were] at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know[ it]; hold ye your peace.

But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

And if thy brother[ that dwelleth] by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:[ But] as an hired servant,[ and] as a sojourner, he shall be with thee,[ and] shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:And[ then] shall he depart from thee,[ both] he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters,[ are] many: therefore we take up corn[ for them], that we may eat, and live.[ Some] also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute,[ and that upon] our lands and vineyards.Yet now our flesh[ is] as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and[ some] of our daughters are brought unto bondage[ already]: neither[ is it] in our power[ to redeem them]; for other men have our lands and vineyards.

And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

But the mercy of the LORD[ is] from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and[ there was] a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets[ were] sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

And[ if] the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell,[ that] we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and[ that] we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

And Ahab called Obadiah, which[ was] the governor of[ his] house.( Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly:

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this[ is] the whole[ duty] of man.

Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his[ days] be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

He will bless them that fear the LORD,[ both] small and great.

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

And every one[ that was] in distress, and every one that[ was] in debt, and every one[ that was] discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he[ was] a faithful man, and feared God above many.

Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for[ thou] only[ art] holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Praise ye the LORD. Blessed[ is] the man[ that] feareth the LORD,[ that] delighteth greatly in his commandments.His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only[ son] from me.

And the sons of the prophets that[ were] at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know[ it]; hold ye your peace.

After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:

For as the heaven is high above the earth,[ so] great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard[ it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Men[ and] brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
