But[ there was] not a man among all the people[ that] answered him.Then said he unto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, Do what seemeth good unto thee.Therefore Saul said unto the LORD God of Israel, Give a perfect[ lot]. And Saul and Jonathan were taken: but the people escaped.And Saul said, Cast[ lots] between me and Jonathan my son. And Jonathan was taken.Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that[ was] in mine hand,[ and], lo, I must die.And Saul answered, God do so and more also: for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid:[ as] the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.Then Saul went up from following the Philistines: and the Philistines went to their own place.

And the king of Israel went to his house heavy and displeased, and came to Samaria.

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only[ son] Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her[ according] to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,

And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I[ am] the LORD.

And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind[ him] a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD[ is] God of the hills, but he[ is] not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD.
