On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard, an official of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

Nebuzaradan was an official of the king of Babylon. In fact, he was commander of the royal guard. He came to Jerusalem. It was in the 19th year that Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon. It was on the seventh day of the fifth month.

In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month— that was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon— Nebuzaradan, the captain of the bodyguard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

On August 14 of that year, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard and an official of the Babylonian king, arrived in Jerusalem.

On the seventh day of the fifth month— which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon— Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, a servant of the king of Babylon, entered Jerusalem.

Now on the seventh day of the fifth month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguards, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month( which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard who served the king of Babylon, arrived in Jerusalem.

Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

五月十日，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒第十九年，侍立在巴比倫王面前的護衛長尼布撒拉旦來到耶路撒冷。他放火焚燒耶和華的殿和王宮，以及耶路撒冷一切房屋，一切高大的房屋，他都放火燒了。跟隨護衛長的迦勒底人全軍拆毀了耶路撒冷周圍所有的城牆。至於人民中最貧窮的、城中剩下的人民，和已經向巴比倫王投降的人，以及剩下的技工，護衛長尼布撒拉旦都擄了去。至於那地最貧窮的人，護衛長尼布撒拉旦把他們留下，去修理葡萄園和耕種田地。

護衛長尼布撒拉旦在拉瑪釋放了耶利米以後，從耶和華那裡有話臨到耶利米。耶利米被提出來的時候，還被鐵鍊鎖著，在所有從耶路撒冷和猶大被擄到巴比倫去的人中間。護衛長把耶利米提出來，對他說：“耶和華你的神曾說要降這災禍在這地方；現在耶和華使災禍臨到，照他所說的行了；因為你們得罪了耶和華，沒有聽從他的話，所以這事才臨到你們。我現在解開你手上的鐵鍊。你若認為與我一同到巴比倫去好，就一起去，我必好好照顧你；你若認為與我一同到巴比倫去不好，就不必去。看，全地都在你面前，你認為去哪裡好、哪裡合宜，就到哪裡去吧！”

地上的君王，以及世上所有的居民都不相信，會有任何敵人和仇敵攻進耶路撒冷的城門。

迦勒底人放火焚燒王宮和民房，又拆毀了耶路撒冷的城牆。城裡剩下的人民，和那些已經向巴比倫王投降的人，以及其餘的人民，都被護衛長尼布撒拉旦擄到巴比倫去。但護衛長尼布撒拉旦把民中一些一無所有的窮人留在猶大地，同時把葡萄園和田地分給他們。巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒提到耶利米，吩咐護衛長尼布撒拉旦說：“你把他帶去，好好照顧他，切不可傷害他；他對你怎樣說，你就給他照辦。”於是護衛長尼布撒拉旦、大臣（“大臣”的本意不明確）尼布沙斯班、術士長（“術士長”的本意不明確）尼甲．沙利薛，以及巴比倫王所有的大臣都派人去，把耶利米從衛兵的院子裡提出來，交給沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利，叫他帶耶利米回家去。這樣，耶利米就住在人民中間。

猶大王約雅斤被擄後第三十七年，就是巴比倫王以未．米羅達登基的那一年，十二月二十七日，他恩待（“恩待”原文作“使抬起頭來”）猶大王約雅斤，把他從獄中領出來，

“萬軍之耶和華這樣說：‘四月的禁食、五月的禁食、七月的禁食和十月的禁食都要變為猶大家歡喜快樂的日子和歡樂的節期。所以，你們要喜愛誠實與和平。’

猶大王約雅斤和他的母親、眾臣僕、眾領袖，以及眾太監，出城投降巴比倫王。巴比倫王於是捉住他。那時，是巴比倫王在位第八年。
