It was because of the Lord’s anger that all this happened to Jerusalem and Judah, and in the end he thrust them from his presence. Now Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

The enemies of Jerusalem and Judah attacked them because the Lord was angry. In the end the Lord threw them out of his land. Zedekiah also refused to remain under the control of Nebuchadnezzar.

For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

These things happened because of the Lord’s anger against the people of Jerusalem and Judah, until he finally banished them from his presence and sent them into exile. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Because of the LORD’s anger, it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he finally banished them from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

尼布甲尼撒曾讓他奉上帝的名起誓，他卻背叛了尼布甲尼撒。他頑固不化，不肯歸向以色列的上帝耶和華。

我照耶和華的吩咐對猶大王西底迦說：「你們要負巴比倫王的軛，臣服於他和他的人民，這樣你們就可存活。你和你的人民何必死於戰爭、饑荒和瘟疫呢？耶和華要降這些災難給不肯臣服於巴比倫王的國家。不要聽信那些先知騙人的預言，他們說巴比倫王不會征服你們。耶和華並沒有派他們，他們卻奉祂的名說假預言。如果你們聽信他們的話，耶和華必把你們和假先知趕走，使你們一同滅亡。」

他來要按照撒旦的伎倆行各樣虛假的異能、神蹟和奇事，用盡各樣詭計欺騙那些將要滅亡的人，因為他們不喜歡接受那能拯救他們的真理。上帝就讓他們是非不辨，去相信那些虛假的謊言，

希實本王西宏卻拒絕我們的請求，因為我們的上帝耶和華使他頑固不化，好讓我們擊敗他，正如今日的情形。

後來，猶大王背叛了巴比倫王，派使者到埃及請求支援軍隊馬匹。他能成功嗎？他這樣做怎能逃脫懲罰呢？他這樣背約怎能逃脫懲罰呢？「我憑我的永恆起誓，巴比倫王立他做王，他卻棄約背誓，他必死在巴比倫。敵人築起圍攻的土壘和高臺大肆殺戮的時候，法老雖然兵強馬壯，人多勢眾，仍無法幫他抗敵。他起誓降服，卻棄約背誓，所以絕不能逃避後果。因此，主耶和華說，『我憑我的永恆起誓，他既藐視與我所立的誓言，背棄與我所定的約，我必懲罰他。我要撒開網羅抓住他，把他帶到巴比倫，審判他對我不忠的罪。

耶利米說：「以色列的上帝——萬軍之上帝耶和華說，『如果你出去向巴比倫王的將領投降，就可以保住你和你全家的性命，這城也不會被燒毀。但如果你不出去向巴比倫王的將領投降，這城必落在迦勒底人手裡，被付之一炬，你也逃不掉。』」西底迦王說：「我害怕那些已經向迦勒底人投降的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人會把我交給他們，任由他們羞辱。」耶利米說：「不會的。只要你聽從耶和華吩咐我對你說的話，你就可以平安無事，保全性命。耶和華已指示我，如果你不肯投降，

因為他們背棄我，給別的神明燒香，製造偶像惹我發怒，我的怒火要在這地方燃燒，絕不止息。

埃及王聰明的謀士——瑣安的首領們變得愚不可及。他們怎敢在埃及王面前自稱是古聖先賢的子孫呢？埃及王啊，你的智者在哪裡呢？讓他們把萬軍之耶和華對付埃及的計劃告訴你吧！瑣安的首領愚昧，挪弗的首領糊塗。他們是埃及的房角石，卻把埃及人引入歧途。耶和華使錯謬的靈進入他們當中，使他們像又嘔又吐、東倒西歪的醉漢，做什麼都錯誤百出。

因此，耶和華向這片土地發怒，把這書上的一切咒詛都降在這裡。

這一次，我要降下大災禍在你及你的臣僕和百姓身上，好叫你知道普天之下我獨一無二。我若用瘟疫攻擊你和你的百姓，你們早就滅亡了。我讓你活到現在，是為了向你彰顯我的權能，使我的名傳遍天下。但你竟然在我的子民面前狂傲自大，不讓他們離開。

這個世代所謂的智者、學者、雄辯家在哪裡？上帝豈不是把這世上的智慧都變成愚昧了嗎？
