The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the priests next in rank and the doorkeepers to remove from the temple of the Lord all the articles made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley and took the ashes to Bethel.

Certain things in the Lord’ s temple had been made to honor other gods. They were the god named Baal, the female god named Asherah and all the stars in the sky. The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest to remove those things. The king ordered the priests who were next in rank and the men who guarded the doors to help Hilkiah. Josiah took those things that had been in the Lord’ s temple and burned them outside Jerusalem. He burned them in the fields in the Kidron Valley. And he took the ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the keepers of the threshold to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king instructed Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second rank and the Temple gatekeepers to remove from the Lord’s Temple all the articles that were used to worship Baal, Asherah, and all the powers of the heavens. The king had all these things burned outside Jerusalem on the terraces of the Kidron Valley, and he carried the ashes away to Bethel.

Then the king commanded the high priest Hilkiah and the priests of the second rank and the doorkeepers to bring out of the LORD’s sanctuary all the articles made for Baal, Asherah, and all the stars in the sky. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the utensils that had been made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the heavenly lights; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.

The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the high-ranking priests, and the guards to bring out of the LORD’s temple all the items that were used in the worship of Baal, Asherah, and all the stars of the sky. The king burned them outside of Jerusalem in the terraces of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of Yahweh’s temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

以色列啊！你虽然行淫，犹大却不可犯罪，不要往吉甲去，不要上到伯．亚文，也不要指着永活的耶和华起誓。

现在你要派人去召集以色列众人和四百五十个巴力的先知，以及耶洗别供养的四百个亚舍拉的先知，都上迦密山来见我。”

那时，祭司长和民间的长老聚集在大祭司该亚法的官邸，

耶稣说完了这些话，就和门徒出去，过了汲沦溪。在那里有一个园子，耶稣和门徒进去了。

众人向前走的时候，遍地的人都放声大哭；王过了汲沦溪，众人就都走上通往旷野去的路。

他们把人给他们的公牛牵了来，预备好了，就从早晨直到中午，呼求巴力的名，说：“巴力啊，应允我们吧！”可是没有声音，也没有回应。他们就在所筑的祭坛周围跳舞。

藉此，雅各的罪孽才得赦免；他的罪过得以除掉的条件全都在于此，就是他叫祭坛上所有的石头都变为破碎的灰石，使亚舍拉和香坛不再竖立。

你们怎可偷盗、凶杀、奸淫、起假誓、向巴力烧香，跟从你们素不认识的别神，

此外，甚至在伯特利的祭坛和那使以色列人陷于罪中的尼八的儿子耶罗波安所做的邱坛，他都拆毁焚烧，压碎成灰，又把亚舍拉烧了。

他们离弃了耶和华，去事奉巴力和亚斯他录。

他就把一个牛犊安放在伯特利，一个安放在但。

“你们去伯特利犯罪，在吉甲增加过犯吧！每早献上你们的祭物，每三日献上你们的十分之一吧！

亚哈犯了尼八的儿子耶罗波安所犯的罪，还以为是小事。他又娶了西顿王谒巴力的女儿耶洗别作妻子，去服事巴力，敬拜巴力。

但我在以色列人中留下七千人，他们全是未曾向巴力屈过膝的，也未曾与巴力亲过嘴的。”

他又把他所做的雕像立在神的殿中，神曾经指着这殿，对大卫和他的儿子所罗门说：“我要在这殿里，和在我从以色列各支派中拣选的耶路撒冷中，立我的名，直到永远。

守门的人的班次如下：可拉家族，亚萨的子孙中，有可利的儿子米施利米雅。米施利米雅有几个儿子：长子是撒迦利雅、次子是耶叠、三子是西巴弟雅、四子是耶提聂、五子是以拦、六子是约哈难、七子是以利约乃。俄别．以东有几个儿子：长子是示玛雅、次子是约萨拔、三子是约亚，四子是沙甲、五子是拿坦业、六子是亚米利、七子是以萨迦、八子是毗乌利太；神实在赐福给俄别．以东。他的儿子示玛雅也生了几个儿子，都是管治他们的家族的，因为他们都是英勇的战士。示玛雅的儿子是俄得尼、利法益、俄备得和以利萨巴。以利萨巴的兄弟以利户和西玛迦都是勇士。这些人都是俄别．以东的子孙，他们和他们的儿子、兄弟，都是有能力办事的人。俄别．以东的子孙，共有六十二人。米施利米雅有儿子和兄弟，都是勇士，共十八人。米拉利的子孙何萨有几个儿子，长子是申利（申利原不是长子，是他父亲立他作长子的）、次子是希勒家、三子是底巴利雅、四子是撒迦利亚。何萨所有的儿子和兄弟共十三人。以上这些都是守门人的班次；无论是首领或是他们的亲族，都在耶和华的殿里按班供职。他们无论大小，都按着他们的家族抽签，看守各门。抽出守东门的签的是示利米雅。他的儿子撒迦利亚是个聪明的谋士，他们为他抽出了守北面的签。俄别．以东守南门；他的儿子守库房。书聘和何萨守西门，以及在斜路上的沙利基门；守卫的人相对而立。守东门的有六个利未人，守北门的每日有四人，守南门的每日有四人，守库房的两人一组。在西面的前廊有四人在大路上，在前廊那里有两个人。以上这些人是可拉子孙和米拉利子孙守门的人的班次。

他们丢弃耶和华他们神的一切吩咐，为自己做了两个牛犊的铸像，又做亚舍拉，并且敬拜天上的万象和服事巴力；

“你上去到希勒家大祭司那里，叫他把献给耶和华殿的银子，就是守门的从人民所收集的，结算一下。

以利亚对他们说：“捉住巴力的先知，一个也不要让他们逃脱。”于是众人捉住他们。以利亚带他们下到基顺河边，在那里杀了他们。

护卫长拿住祭司长西莱雅、副祭司长西番亚和三个守门的；

他在位第八年，还是年幼的时候，就开始寻求他先祖大卫的神。到了第十二年，他就开始洁净犹大和耶路撒冷，除掉邱坛、亚舍拉、雕像和铸像。众人在他面前拆毁了巴力的祭坛，他亲自打碎了坛上高高的香坛，又把亚舍拉、雕像和铸像砍碎成灰，撒在向这些偶像献过祭的人的坟上。

到了早上，所有的祭司长和民间的长老商议怎样对付耶稣，好杀掉他。

后来发现以利亚撒的子孙中，比以他玛的子孙有更多作首领的，就把他们分开班次；以利亚撒子孙中作首领的，按着他们的家族有十六人；以他玛子孙中作首领的，按着他们的家族有八人。以抽签的方式平均地把他们分开，因为在以利亚撒的子孙中和以他玛的子孙中都有人在圣所作领袖，以及在神面前作领袖。作书记的利未人拿坦业的儿子示玛雅，在君王、领袖、撒督祭司、亚比亚他的儿子亚希米勒，以及众祭司家族和利未家族的首领面前，把他们的名字记录下来。在以利亚撒的子孙中，有一家族被选取了；在以他玛的子孙中，也有一家族被选取了。第一签抽出来的是耶何雅立，第二签是耶大雅，第三签是哈琳，第四签是梭琳，第五签是玛基雅，第六签是米雅民，第七签是哈歌斯，第八签是亚比雅，第九签是耶书亚，第十签是示迦尼，第十一签是以利亚实，第十二签是雅金，第十三签是胡巴，第十四签是耶是比押，第十五签是璧迦，第十六签是音麦，第十七签是希悉，第十八签是哈辟悉，第十九签是毗他希雅，第二十签是以西结，第二十一签是雅斤，第二十二签是迦末，第二十三签是第来雅，第二十四签是玛西亚。这就是他们的班次，是照着耶和华以色列的神藉着他们的祖宗亚伦所吩咐的条例，进入耶和华的殿，办理事务。
