The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So he agreed to the terms of the covenant written down in that book. Then all the people committed themselves to the covenant as well.

And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. In this way, he confirmed all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll, and all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

耶何耶大在耶和華及王與民間立約、使民奉事耶和華、又在王與民間立約。

見王立於臺、循其常例、又見群臣、及吹角者待於王側、角鳴之際、斯土之民歡然欣喜、亞大利乃裂其衣、疾呼曰、爾黨其謀叛乎、爾黨其謀叛乎。

惟爾當遵從敬畏爾上帝耶和華、守其誡、聽其命、恆久事之。

今日爾與族中最著者、長老族長、暨以色列眾、爰及妻孥、營中之賓旅、自採樵者及汲水者、俱立於爾上帝耶和華前。

昔吾主耶穌流永堅約之血、為大牧、賜平康之上帝甦之、

俱望郇邑、勤詢厥路、歸誠於我、與我結約、歷世弗忘。

爾上帝耶和華諭我、以誡命法度禮儀示爾、爾宜恪守、於爾所往、據有之地。

相約一心一意、宗事列祖之上帝耶和華、凡不崇以色列族之上帝耶和華、無論尊卑男女、死無赦。遂大聲號呼吹角、於耶和華前發誓。

以盟約之詞、誦於民聽。僉曰、耶和華所諭、我必遵行。摩西以血灑民曰、此耶和華諭爾之約之血、○

昔在何烈、耶和華與以色列族既立盟約、今在摩押、更諭摩西、重申其約。

爾指予而發誓、言必實踐、行必秉公、異邦人亦祈禱予、頌美予焉。

王立於臺上、與耶和華約、一心一意、宗事耶和華、守其禁令、法度禮儀、遵約書所載、使耶路撒冷民、便雅憫族、無不聽從、咸遵列祖上帝之約。以色列地四方所臣服之列邦、奉可惡之物、約西亞廢之、教民奉事其上帝耶和華、故其在位之時、民恆事不輟。

耶何耶大與王及民約、使民為耶和華民。

既指上帝而誓、必守王命、勿謀不軌、勿致位而不辭、爾若是、恐干王怒、蓋發號出令、由王獨斷。

摩西以耶和華所諭命令法度、遍告億兆、同聲對曰、耶和華所諭、我必遵行。

以色列族乎、爾上帝耶和華、使爾所為何事、第畏爾上帝、行由其道、一心一意、愛之事之、

耶和華兮、其律全備、可以蘇困兮、其法真實、可以破愚兮、其命正直、可以悅志兮、其誠純潔、可以發矇兮、其道至清而至久兮、其典至公而至義兮、

今指上帝而誓、凡娶於異邦者、必出其妻、與其所生、從我主及畏上帝者之言、循例而行。

民謂約書亞曰、我欲奉事我上帝耶和華而遵其命。是日約書亞與民立約、設法度禮儀於示劍。○

我今日所諭之命、爾其聽之、一心一意、愛爾上帝耶和華而奉事之、

餘民、祭司、利未人、司閽者、謳歌者、殿中奔走者、與異邦人絕交、從上帝律例者、各偕妻孥、有知識之童子、從同宗世職、發誓立盟、必遵從上帝僕摩西所傳之律例、守我上帝耶和華誡命、禮儀法度、不以女嫁異邦人、不以異邦人之女娶為媳。如異邦人、於安息日、或節期攜貨財食物、欲鬻於我、則我必不可購、七年一休息、不耕穫、貸金者不復索取。我亦定例、每歲人輸金一錢七分、供上帝殿中之需、如禮物、陳設之餅、安息日、月朔、節期、所獻之燔祭、為以色列族贖罪、所薦之犧牲、凡我上帝殿中所需、悉取諸此。律例有之、必燔柴於我上帝耶和華壇、故我祭司、利未人、庶民、掣籤、何族屆期運柴入殿。我儕有願、凡初登之土產、始實之樹果、歲薦耶和華殿、以我初胎男子首生牛羊、攜入殿中、給供役之祭司、循律例所載。新麥為屑、與當獻禮物、初稔之果、新製之油、始熟之酒、納祭司、貯諸殿室、邑外郊圻、田中所產、取其什一、以奉利未人。利未人受什一時、亞倫子孫、當一人在側、利未人復於其中什取一、運入上帝殿、藏諸府庫。以色列族、利未人、運所獻、百穀油酒、至藏器之室、祭司、司閽者、謳歌者、所居之處、於是在上帝之殿、事不廢弛。

摩西召以色列族、告之曰、我今所傳之法度禮儀爾其聽之、當學習、當恪守、昔在何烈、我上帝耶和華與我立約、非與我祖立約、乃與我儕、今日尚存者、立約。

爾當盡心盡意盡力、愛爾上帝耶和華。

惟主視其有缺、故諭眾曰、時日伊邇、我與以色列猶大民、將別立新約、此約、與我援其祖出埃及時所立之約異、彼不恆守我舊約、我檳之弗顧、當日之後、吾必與以色列民、共立新約、吾將以我律法、置其衷、銘其心、我將為彼上帝、彼將為我民、彼不需誨其昆弟鄰里、使識上帝、蓋由尊逮卑、眾必知我、余將宥其不義、不念其罪惡、既以此約為新、則以彼約為舊、凡舊而漸衰徵者、必不久自廢、

出埃及後摩西以法度禮儀、傳以色列族、

有新約中保耶穌其灑血默籲、較亞伯為尤善、

見王立於臺及門、又見群臣與吹角者侍於王側、鳴角謳歌、操樂器、斯土之民歡然欣喜、乃裂其衣、呼曰爾黨其謀叛乎、爾黨其謀叛乎。

我欲與以色列族之上帝耶和華約、望息震怒。

先生、律法諸誡、孰為大、耶穌曰、當一心、一性、一意、愛主爾之上帝、

如爾忘爾上帝耶和華、從他上帝、以奉拜之、我今日告爾、爾必死亡。
