“除了獨一的耶和華以外，還獻祭給別神的，那人必須滅絕。

耶戶獻完了燔祭，就對衛兵和軍長說：“你們進去，殺死他們，一個也不讓他們出來。”衛兵和軍長於是用刀擊殺他們，又把他們的屍體拋出去，然後往巴力廟的內室去了。

他把祭司的骨頭燒在他們的祭壇上，這樣就潔淨了猶大和耶路撒冷。

以利亞對他們說：“捉住巴力的先知，一個也不要讓他們逃脫。”於是眾人捉住他們。以利亞帶他們下到基順河邊，在那裡殺了他們。

耶和華的刀染滿了血，這刀因脂肪、羊羔和公山羊的血，以及公綿羊腰子的脂肪而滋潤，因為耶和華在波斯拉有殺牲獻祭的事，在以東地有大屠殺。

至於那先知，或作夢的人，你們要把他處死，因為他說了叛逆的話，叛逆了那領你們出埃及地，救贖你脫離為奴之家的耶和華你們的神，要你離棄耶和華你的神吩咐你走的道路。這樣你就把那惡從你們中間除掉了。

“到那日（這是萬軍之耶和華的宣告），我必從這地除掉偶像的名號，它們不再被人記念；我也必從這地除去假先知和污穢的靈。如果有人再說預言，他的親生父母必對他說：‘你不該活著，因為你奉耶和華的名說謊。’他說預言的時候，他的親生父母必把他刺死。
