Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger.

Josiah did in the rest of the northern kingdom the same things he had done at Bethel. He removed all the small temples at the high places. He made them“ unclean.” The kings of Israel had built them in the towns of the northern kingdom. The people in those towns had made the Lord very angry.

And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah demolished all the buildings at the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria, just as he had done at Bethel. They had been built by the various kings of Israel and had made the Lord very angry.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the LORD. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

Now Josiah also took away all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the Lord to anger; and he did to them according to all the deeds he had done in Bethel.

行惡於主前、效以色列列王之所為、與亞哈家所行無異、蓋娶亞哈之女為后、

爾猶守暗利之陋規、陋規或作惡習原文作律例行亞哈家一切所行、從其所謀、故我必使爾城邑荒蕪、使居民為人所訕笑、我民受辱、爾曹亦必當之、我民受辱爾曹亦必當之有作爾曹必負萬民之恥笑

焚獻其子、原文作使其子過於火又占卜、用邪術、設立交鬼者及巫覡、多行惡於主前、干犯主怒、

主諭我曰、人子、爾見此乎、猶大族在此所行諸可憎之事、猶可以為小乎、更於斯地徧行強暴、屢干我怒、以枝舉於鼻前、以枝舉於鼻前有云此指古拜日者以樹枝搖於鼻前為禮又作彼之為此若以鐮刀自割其鼻故我亦震怒罰之、我目不顧惜、我不加矜憫、彼雖大聲呼籲我、我必不應之、

亞哈亦作亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶亞哈所行、干主以色列天主之怒、較前之以色列諸王尤甚、

趨承者遵王命、將王與牧伯之書、傳遍以色列及猶大、書曰、以色列人、爾當歸主亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之天主、若是、則主必復眷顧復眷顧原文作歸爾曹所餘、脫於亞述列王之手者、勿效爾祖父及同族、同族原文作兄弟彼干犯主其列祖之天主、遂被殲滅、如爾目睹、勿似爾祖父剛愎、當歸順主、至主所永定為聖之殿、奉事主爾列祖之天主、庶主向爾息怒、如爾歸主、主必使爾子弟為擄之者所恤、得返斯地、蓋主爾之天主憐憫仁慈、如爾歸主、主不致轉面不顧爾、趨承者在以法蓮、瑪拿西、西布倫地、行遍諸邑、為人哂笑譏刺、但亞設、瑪拿西、西布倫中、有數人謙恭、至耶路撒冷、

子拾薪、父燃火、婦女摶麵作餅、以奉天后、且為他神奠酒、激我震怒、主曰、彼豈獨激我怒乎、豈非自激其禍、致滿面蒙羞乎、

耶羅波安建邱壇之室、以不屬利未後裔之凡民、立為祭司、

築邱壇使天主不悅、拜偶像干犯天主盛怒、

以色列人私行非法、背逆主其天主、自戍樓以及鞏固之城、各處建築邱壇、

棄主其天主之一切誡命、鎔鑄二犢、立亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶崇拜天之萬象、奉事巴力、焚獻子女、原文作使其子女過於火用邪術、信卜筮、專行惡於主前、干犯其怒、主甚怒以色列人、逐於其前、所留者惟猶大一支派而已、
