Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger.

Josiah did in the rest of the northern kingdom the same things he had done at Bethel. He removed all the small temples at the high places. He made them“ unclean.” The kings of Israel had built them in the towns of the northern kingdom. The people in those towns had made the Lord very angry.

And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah demolished all the buildings at the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria, just as he had done at Bethel. They had been built by the various kings of Israel and had made the Lord very angry.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the LORD. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

Now Josiah also took away all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the Lord to anger; and he did to them according to all the deeds he had done in Bethel.

此事既畢、在彼之以色列眾咸出、往猶大諸邑、碎其柱像、斫其木偶、毀其崇邱與壇、在猶大便雅憫以法蓮瑪拿西諸地、盡除滅之、以色列人乃返故邑、各歸其業、

循以色列諸王之道、如亞哈家所為、蓋娶亞哈女為妻、行耶和華所惡、

蓋尚有守暗利之例、從亞哈家所為者、而爾遵循其謀、我必使爾寂寞、斯土居民、為人嗤笑、我民之辱、爾必任之、

並使其子經火、用卜筮、行邪術、與憑鬼者及巫覡交、多行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、

彼諭我曰、人子歟、爾見此乎、猶大家在此行可惡之事、豈細故哉、致使斯土充斥強暴、復激我怒、置樹枝於其鼻、故我必以怒待之、我目不顧惜之、不加矜憫、彼雖大聲呼於我耳、猶不聽之、

亦作木偶、亞哈所行、激以色列上帝耶和華之怒、較以色列前王尤甚、

於是郵傳者遵王命、傳王與牧伯之書於以色列、及猶大地、曰、以色列人歟、爾當復歸亞伯拉罕以撒以色列之上帝耶和華、俾其轉向爾曹、脫於亞述王手之遺民、勿效爾列祖及昆弟、彼干犯其列祖之上帝耶和華、上帝棄之、令人驚駭、如爾目擊、勿似爾列祖之強項、當歸順耶和華、入其永別為聖之所、奉事爾上帝耶和華、俾其烈怒離爾、如爾歸耶和華、則爾昆弟子女、必得矜恤於虜之者、再返斯土、蓋爾上帝耶和華仁慈矜憫、爾若歸之、必不轉面弗爾顧也、郵傳者遍行以法蓮瑪拿西境、遞經諸邑、至西布倫、民乃哂而譏之、惟亞設瑪拿西西布倫中、有人自卑、至耶路撒冷、

子取薪、父舉火、婦人摶麵為餅、而奉天后、灌酒於他神、以激我怒、耶和華曰、彼激我怒乎、豈非自激、致面有慚色哉、

王於崇邱建廟、由眾民中、不屬利未族者、簡立祭司、

以崇邱激其怒、雕像攖其憤兮、

以色列人私行不正之事、背逆其上帝耶和華、於其諸邑、自戍樓至堅城、建築崇邱、

違棄其上帝耶和華一切誡命、鑄二犢像、製造木偶、崇拜天象、奉事巴力、使其子女經火、用卜筮邪術、自鬻而行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、耶和華震怒以色列人、擯於其前、惟遺猶大支派而已、
