Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger.

Josiah did in the rest of the northern kingdom the same things he had done at Bethel. He removed all the small temples at the high places. He made them“ unclean.” The kings of Israel had built them in the towns of the northern kingdom. The people in those towns had made the Lord very angry.

And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah demolished all the buildings at the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria, just as he had done at Bethel. They had been built by the various kings of Israel and had made the Lord very angry.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the LORD. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

Now Josiah also took away all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the Lord to anger; and he did to them according to all the deeds he had done in Bethel.

And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Jehovah to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Beth- el.

又在玛拿西、以法莲、西缅、拿弗他利各城，和四围破坏之处，都这样行；又拆毁祭坛，把木偶和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍断以色列遍地所有的日像，就回耶路撒冷去了。

因为他奉耶和华的命指着伯特利的坛和撒玛利亚各城有邱坛之殿所说的话必定应验。”

这事既都完毕，在那里的以色列众人就到犹大的城邑，打碎柱像，砍断木偶，又在犹大、便雅悯、以法莲、玛拿西遍地将邱坛和祭坛拆毁净尽。于是以色列众人各回各城，各归各地。

他行以色列诸王所行的，与亚哈家一样；因为他娶了亚哈的女儿为妻，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事。

因为你守暗利的恶规，行亚哈家一切所行的，顺从他们的计谋；因此，我必使你荒凉，使你的居民令人嗤笑，你们也必担当我民的羞辱。”

并使他的儿子经火，又观兆，用法术，立交鬼的和行巫术的，多行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹动他的怒气；

他对我说：“人子啊，你看见了吗？犹大家在此行这可憎的事还算为小吗？他们在这地遍行强暴，再三惹我发怒，他们手拿枝条举向鼻前。因此，我也要以忿怒行事，我眼必不顾惜，也不可怜他们；他们虽向我耳中大声呼求，我还是不听。”

亚哈又做亚舍拉，他所行的惹耶和华以色列神的怒气，比他以前的以色列诸王更甚。

驿卒就把王和众首领的信，遵着王命传遍以色列和犹大。信内说：“以色列人哪，你们当转向耶和华亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神，好叫他转向你们这脱离亚述王手的余民。你们不要效法你们列祖和你们的弟兄；他们干犯耶和华他们列祖的神，以致耶和华丢弃他们，使他们败亡，正如你们所见的。现在不要像你们列祖硬着颈项，只要归顺耶和华，进入他的圣所，就是永远成圣的居所；又要侍奉耶和华你们的神，好使他的烈怒转离你们。你们若转向耶和华，你们的弟兄和儿女必在掳掠他们的人面前蒙怜恤，得以归回这地，因为耶和华你们的神有恩典、施怜悯。你们若转向他，他必不转脸不顾你们。”驿卒就由这城跑到那城，传遍了以法莲、玛拿西，直到西布伦。那里的人却戏笑他们，讥诮他们。然而亚设、玛拿西、西布伦中也有人自卑，来到耶路撒冷。

孩子捡柴，父亲烧火，妇女抟面做饼，献给天后，又向别神浇奠祭，惹我发怒。”耶和华说：“他们岂是惹我发怒呢？不是自己惹祸，以致脸上惭愧吗？”

耶罗波安在邱坛那里建殿，将那不属利未人的凡民立为祭司。

因他们的邱坛惹了他的怒气；因他们雕刻的偶像触动他的愤恨。

以色列人暗中行不正的事，违背耶和华他们的神，在他们所有的城邑，从瞭望楼直到坚固城，建筑邱坛；

离弃耶和华他们神的一切诫命，为自己铸了两个牛犊的像，立了亚舍拉，敬拜天上的万象，侍奉巴力，又使他们的儿女经火，用占卜，行法术卖了自己，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹动他的怒气。所以耶和华向以色列人大大发怒，从自己面前赶出他们，只剩下犹大一个支派。
