Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger.

Josiah did in the rest of the northern kingdom the same things he had done at Bethel. He removed all the small temples at the high places. He made them“ unclean.” The kings of Israel had built them in the towns of the northern kingdom. The people in those towns had made the Lord very angry.

And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah demolished all the buildings at the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria, just as he had done at Bethel. They had been built by the various kings of Israel and had made the Lord very angry.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the LORD. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

他又在玛拿西、以法莲、西缅，以至拿弗他利的各城，以及它们周围荒废的地方，都这样行。他拆毁了祭坛，把亚舍拉和雕刻的偶像打碎，破碎了以色列全地所有的香坛，就回耶路撒冷去了。

这一切都作完了，所有在那里的以色列人就都出去，到犹大的各城，打碎神柱，砍下亚舍拉；又在犹大、便雅悯、以法莲和玛拿西各地，把邱坛和祭坛完全拆毁。然后以色列众人都各回各城，各归自己的地业去了。

他照着以色列诸王的道路而行，好像亚哈家所行的；因为他娶了亚哈的女儿为妻，并且行耶和华看为恶的事。

你跟随了暗利的规例和亚哈家一切所行的，顺从了他们的计谋；因此，我必使你荒凉，使你（“你”原文作“她”）的居民被嗤笑；你们也必担当我民的羞辱。

他又把他的儿子用火烧为祭（“把他的儿子用火烧为祭”直译是“使他的儿子经过进入火中”），并且算命、观兆，交鬼和行巫术；多行耶和华看为恶的事，惹他发怒。

他对我说：“人子啊，你看见了吗？犹大家在这里行这可憎的事，还算小事吗？他们使这地充满了强暴，再三惹我发怒；看哪！他们把树枝拿到自己的鼻前。因此我要以烈怒待他们；我的眼必不顾惜，我也不怜恤；他们虽然在我耳中大声呼求，我还是不听他们。”

亚哈又做了亚舍拉，亚哈所行的，惹耶和华以色列的神发怒，比他以前所有的以色列王更厉害。

信差就带着王和众领袖发出的书信，走遍全以色列和犹大，照着王的吩咐，宣告说：“以色列人哪，你们应当转向耶和华，亚伯拉罕、以撒和以色列的神，使他也转向你们这些在亚述王手中逃脱的余民。你们不要像你们的列祖和你们的亲族，他们得罪了耶和华他们列祖的神，以致耶和华使他们成为令人惊骇的对象，就像你们自己所见的。现在你们不可顽固，像你们的列祖那样；要顺服耶和华，进入他永远分别为圣的圣所，事奉耶和华你们的神，使他的烈怒转离你们。如果你们是归向耶和华，你们的亲族和儿女就必在俘掳他们的人面前蒙怜悯，可以返回这地；因为耶和华你们的神是有恩惠有怜悯；如果你们归向他，他必不转脸不顾你们。”信差从这城到那城，走遍了以法莲和玛拿西各地，直到西布伦；那里的人却戏弄他们，讥笑他们。可是在亚设、玛拿西和西布伦中，也有人愿意谦卑，来到耶路撒冷。

儿子捡柴，父亲生火，妇女抟面，为天后做饼，又向别的神浇奠祭，惹我发怒。他们害的是我吗？岂不是他们自己，以致脸上蒙羞吗？”这是耶和华的宣告。

耶罗波安在邱坛那里建殿，把不是利未子孙的平民立为祭司。

因他们的邱坛，惹起他的怒气，因他们雕刻的偶像，激起他的愤恨。

以色列人暗中做了不对的事，违背耶和华他们的神，并且在他们所有的城市，从哨站到设防城，为他们自己建筑邱坛。

他们丢弃耶和华他们神的一切吩咐，为自己做了两个牛犊的铸像，又做亚舍拉，并且敬拜天上的万象和服事巴力；他们又把儿女用火烧为祭，并且占卜，行法术，出卖自己去行耶和华看为恶的事，使他发怒。于是耶和华向以色列人大大发怒，把他们从自己面前赶走，只剩下犹大一个支派。
