不可把兒女當作祭物獻給假神摩洛，不可褻瀆你上帝的名。我是耶和華。

反而步以色列諸王的後塵，效法耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的外族人的可憎行徑，把自己的兒子焚燒獻作祭物。

你們當中不可有人焚燒自己的子女作祭物，不可有人占卜、算命、作法、行邪術、念咒、做靈媒、行巫術或求問亡靈。凡做這些事的人都是耶和華所憎惡的。正是因為當地的民族做這些可憎之事，你們的上帝耶和華才要當著你們的面把他們趕走。你們要在你們的上帝耶和華面前純全無過。「你們將要趕走的那些民族聽信術士和巫師，但你們的上帝耶和華不准你們仿效他們。

他不但在欣嫩子谷燒香，還效法耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的外族人的可憎行徑，焚燒自己的兒子作祭物。

耶和華會喜愛成千的公羊和萬條油河嗎？我要因過犯而獻上自己的長子，因心中的罪惡而獻上親生的骨肉嗎？

「你把以下條例告訴以色列人。「在你們或寄居在你們中間的外族人中，如果有人把子女獻給假神摩洛，必須處死他，當地的人要用石頭打死他。我也必嚴懲那人，將他從民中剷除。因為他把子女獻給摩洛，玷污我的聖所，褻瀆我的聖名。

埃及人必灰心喪志，我必破壞他們的計謀。他們必求問偶像、巫師、靈媒和術士。

所多瑪人極其邪惡，在耶和華眼中罪惡滔天。

掃羅死了，因為他對耶和華不忠，不聽從祂的教誨，甚至去求問靈媒，

他還在欣嫩子谷把自己的兒子燒死，獻作祭物。他行巫術、占卜、觀兆，求問靈媒和巫師。他做了許多耶和華視為惡的事，惹耶和華發怒。

這些災禍臨到猶大是出自耶和華的命令。耶和華要把猶大人從自己面前趕走，是因為瑪拿西所犯的一切罪。瑪拿西濫殺無辜，使耶路撒冷血流遍地，耶和華不會赦免這些罪行。

有人讓你們去求問那些念念有詞的巫師和術士，你們不要去。你們要去求問你們的上帝，活人的事怎能求問死人呢？

一天，我們又去河邊那個禱告的地方，途中遇到一個被巫鬼附身的女奴。她用占卜為她的主人們賺了不少錢。
