又恐爾仰觀於天、見日月星諸象、乃爾上帝耶和華為天下萬民所陳者、受惑而崇事之、

復建其父希西家所毀之崇邱、為巴力建壇、作木偶、崇拜天象、而奉事之、在耶和華室築壇、昔耶和華指此室而言曰、我名必永在耶路撒冷、又在耶和華室二院中、為天象築壇、

若見日發其曜、月行於光、

耶戶集民眾、謂之曰、亞哈奉事巴力猶少、耶戶將事之加多焉、今我欲獻大祭於巴力、當召巴力之眾先知、與崇拜巴力者、及其祭司、使悉詣我、勿遺一人、凡不至者、必不得生、耶戶言此、乃施詭計、欲滅崇拜巴力之人耳、耶戶曰、當為巴力特設肅會、遂宣告焉、

王命大祭司希勒家、與諸副祭司、及閽人、由耶和華殿、取出為巴力亞舍拉暨天象、所製之器皿、焚於耶路撒冷外、汲淪田間、攜其灰至伯特利、昔猶大列王所立奉偶像之祭司、使於猶大諸邑之崇邱、暨耶路撒冷四周焚香者、王悉廢之、又廢焚香於巴力、與日月行星、及諸天象者、

蓋尚有守暗利之例、從亞哈家所為者、而爾遵循其謀、我必使爾寂寞、斯土居民、為人嗤笑、我民之辱、爾必任之、

乃取所予之牛備之、自朝至午、籲巴力之名曰、巴力歟、其聽我、然無聲響、無應者、彼則踊於壇之四周、

循以色列諸王之道、如亞哈家所為、蓋娶亞哈女為妻、行耶和華所惡、

以利亞前謂民眾曰、爾持兩端、躊躇莫決、將至何時、如以耶和華為上帝、則從之、如以巴力為上帝、則從彼、民不答一詞、

亞哈謝循亞哈家之道、行耶和華所惡、如亞哈家所為、因其為亞哈家之壻也、

在位之八年、尚幼冲、始求其祖大衛之上帝、十二年、始潔猶大及耶路撒冷、除其崇邱木偶、雕像鑄像、

如告我曰、我恃我之上帝耶和華、希西家非廢其崇邱與壇、命猶大及耶路撒冷人、惟於耶路撒冷壇前崇拜乎、

此希西家、非廢上帝之崇邱與壇、命猶大及耶路撒冷人、惟在一壇崇拜、焚香於其上乎、
