The water flowing downstream into the Sea of the Arabah— the Dead Sea— was completely cut off, and the people crossed opposite Jericho.The priests carrying the ark of the LORD’s covenant stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel crossed on dry ground until the entire nation had finished crossing the Jordan.

Why was it, sea, that you fled? Jordan, that you turned back?Mountains, that you skipped like rams? Hills, like lambs?Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Suddenly, a voice came to him and said,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

By faith they crossed the Red Sea as though they were on dry land. When the Egyptians attempted to do this, they were drowned.

The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east.
