Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

以利亞謂以利沙曰、主遣我往伯特利、爾且待此、以利沙曰、我指永生主而誓、亦指爾之生命而誓、我不離爾、於是二人下伯特利、

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here. The Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ I won’t leave you. And that’s just as sure as the Lord and you are alive.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Please stay here, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you!” So they went down together to Bethel.

and Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the LORD is sending me on to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here please, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Then Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for Jehovah hath sent me as far as Beth- el. And Elisha said, As Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth- el.

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said,“ As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Then Elijah said to him,“ Stay here; the Lord has sent me to the Jordan.” And he replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So the two of them walked on.

But the child’s mother said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.

and she said to him,“ Pardon me, my lord. As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord.

Then Elijah said to him,“ Stay here, Elisha; the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” And he replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went to Jericho.

And now, my lord, as surely as the Lord your God lives and as you live, since the Lord has kept you from bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your own hands, may your enemies and all who are intent on harming my lord be like Nabal.

and if in a truthful, just and righteous way you swear,‘ As surely as the Lord lives,’ then the nations will invoke blessings by him and in him they will boast.”

He called that place Bethel, though the city used to be called Luz.

“ Look,” said Naomi,“ your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her.”But Ruth replied,“ Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

The king said to Ittai the Gittite,“ Why should you come along with us? Go back and stay with King Absalom. You are a foreigner, an exile from your homeland.You came only yesterday. And today shall I make you wander about with us, when I do not know where I am going? Go back, and take your people with you. May the Lord show you kindness and faithfulness.”But Ittai replied to the king,“ As surely as the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be.”

“ You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.Simon Peter answered him,“ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

As Saul watched David going out to meet the Philistine, he said to Abner, commander of the army,“ Abner, whose son is that young man?” Abner replied,“ As surely as you live, Your Majesty, I don’t know.”

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
