是夜、主之使者出、在亞述營殺十八萬五千人、蚤起視之、惟屍而已、亞述王西拿基立遂返、居於尼尼微、一日、崇拜於其神尼斯洛殿、其子亞得米勒與沙利色、以刃弒之、乃遁於亞拉臘地、其子以撒哈頓繼之為王、

驚懼之聲、常聞於耳、平康之時、殘賊忽至而害之、

必秉公義審鞫貧民、循正直判斷世之謙虛人、世之謙虛人或作國中窮乏人以口中之言責世、若擊之以杖、以詞氣殺滅惡人、

我天主降臨、必不靜默、在其面前、烈火焚燒、在其四圍、大風吹噓、

主如是云、我必使損害之狂風、擊巴比倫、及居其中逆我之人、

主將網羅、烈火、硫磺、熱風、降於惡人之身、此乃惡人當得之報、

我自主聞音信、有使遣至列邦、宣告曰、爾曹咸集、來以攻之、咸起以戰、

斯地聞凶信、此年有凶信、明年更有凶信、強暴之事、遍於斯地、暴虐者繼暴虐者、爾勿因以喪膽恐懼、
