They called for the king; and Eliakim son of Hilkiah the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary, and Joah son of Asaph the recorder went out to them.

The Assyrians called for King Hezekiah. Eliakim, Shebna and Joah went out to them. Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, was in charge of the palace. Shebna was the secretary. Joah, the son of Asaph, kept the records.

And when they called for the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebnah the secretary, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder.

主万军之耶和华如此说：“去吧，到管理宫殿的舍伯纳总管那里，对他说：你在这里有什么权利，你在这里有什么人，你竟然在这里为自己开凿坟墓？你这在高处为自己开凿坟墓、在岩石中为自己雕凿住所的人哪！看哪，耶和华必把你猛力抛出！你这强人哪，耶和华必把你紧紧抓住，把你卷了又卷，卷成球状，抛向宽阔之地！你必死在那里，你华美的战车也必毁在那里，你这主人家的羞辱啊！我必从你的职位赶逐你，从你的位置上拉下你。“到那日，我必召来我的仆人，就是希勒加的儿子以利亚敬；我要把你的外袍给他穿上，把你的腰带给他系紧，把你的权柄交在他的手中；他必作耶路撒冷的居民和犹大家的父。我必把大卫家的钥匙放在他的肩上——他开了就没有人能关，关了就没有人能开。我要把他像橛子一样钉在牢固的地方。对他父家，他必成为荣耀的宝座。他们要把他父家所有的荣耀，连像瓶瓶罐罐那样至小的子孙和旁亲，都挂在他身上。”

他派遣宫廷总管以利亚敬、书记舍伯纳和祭司中年长的，个个披上麻布，到亚摩斯的儿子先知以赛亚那里。
