這是摩西在以色列人面前頒佈的律法。這些法度、律例、典章是摩西在以色列人出埃及後對他們說的，

他把列國的地賜給他們，他們就承受萬民勞碌得來的，好讓他們遵他的律例，守他的律法。哈利路亞！

你降臨在西奈山，從天上與他們說話，賜給他們正直的典章、真實的律法、美好的律例與誡命，又使他們知道你的聖安息日，並藉你僕人摩西傳給他們誡命、律例、律法。

當以色列眾人來到耶和華－你神所選擇的地方朝見他的時候，你要在以色列眾人面前念這律法給他們聽。

至於你，可以站在我這裏，我要將一切誡命、律例、典章傳給你。你要教導他們，使他們在我賜他們為業的地上遵行。』所以，你們要照耶和華－你們神所吩咐的謹守遵行，不可偏離左右。你們要走耶和華－你們的神所吩咐的一切道路，使你們可以存活得福，並使你們的日子在所要承受的地上得以長久。」「這是耶和華－你們的神所吩咐要教導你們的誡命、律例、典章，叫你們在所要過去得為業的地上遵行，好叫你和你的子孫在一生的日子都敬畏耶和華－你的神，謹守他的一切律例、誡命，就是我所吩咐你的，使你的日子得以長久。

摩西寫下這律法，交給抬耶和華約櫃的利未人祭司和以色列的眾長老。

凡我所吩咐你們的事，你們都要謹守遵行，不可加添，也不可刪減。」

你們要謹守我一切的律例典章，遵行它們。我是耶和華。」

又求你賜我兒子所羅門全心遵守你的命令、法度、律例，成就這一切的事，用我所預備的建造殿宇。」
