王不肯依从百姓；这事乃出于神，为要应验耶和华藉示罗人亚希雅对尼八儿子耶罗波安所说的话。以色列众民见王不依从他们，就对王说：“我们与大卫有什么份儿呢？与耶西的儿子并没有关涉！以色列人哪，各回各家去吧！大卫家啊，自己顾自己吧！”于是，以色列众人都回自己家里去了。惟独住在犹大城邑的以色列人，罗波安仍作他们的王。罗波安王差遣掌管服苦之人的哈多兰往以色列人那里去，以色列人就用石头打死他。罗波安王急忙上车，逃回耶路撒冷去了。这样，以色列人背叛大卫家，直到今日。

耶罗波安为邱坛、为鬼魔、为自己所铸造的牛犊设立祭司。

耶和华啊，求你因你的名赦免我的罪，因为我的罪重大。

将国从大卫家夺回赐给你；你却不效法我仆人大卫，遵守我的诫命，一心顺从我，行我眼中看为正的事。

耶和华必使亚述王攻击你的日子临到你和你的百姓，并你的父家，自从以法莲离开犹大以来，未曾有这样的日子。

如此，这二少年人的罪在耶和华面前甚重了，因为他们藐视耶和华的祭物。

这样，以色列人背叛大卫家，直到今日。以色列众人听见耶罗波安回来了，就打发人去请他到会众面前，立他作以色列众人的王。除了犹大支派以外，没有顺从大卫家的。

耶稣回答说：“若不是从上头赐给你的，你就毫无权柄办我。所以，把我交给你的那人罪更重了。”

罗波安又坚固各处的保障，在其中安置军长，又预备下粮食、油、酒。

亚比米勒召了亚伯拉罕来，对他说：“你怎么向我这样行呢？我在什么事上得罪了你，你竟使我和我国里的人陷在大罪里？你向我行不当行的事了！”

摩西对亚伦说：“这百姓向你做了什么？你竟使他们陷在大罪里！”

我儿啊，不可这样！我听见你们的风声不好，你们使耶和华的百姓犯了罪。
